Erppc, Wth

I have been playing my AWS-9M again cause of quirks going: 3xerppc, 2x ML, STD 320, 19 DHS and I think a bap or something like that.
After 30 or so games on this chassis since quirks am doing ok, still positive w/l and k/d.
However, is the hit registration off for erppc's?
I see alot of going through target?
I mean i am not the best shot with erppcs, but in one match I had a dc locust and sat at 100m hit him 6 times with erppc in torso no damage (went through) had to kill him with my meds.
Many times i think in a match i hit alot and see 300-400 dmg...
I actually calculated last match just for laughs: 75 shots on target, 15 miss shots (under 1k range), 15 ML hits. Should have been around 700+ dmg etc, Got 2 kills and 500dmg.
Just curious any1 else find the hit reg of erppcs off?

Ya, I'm in the same boat.
Also tried running my 9M with ERPPC and got horrible results.
I'm used to lead with ballistics on short and long ranges but PPCs just don't seem to work for me.
My ping is in the 120-130ms range and very constant.
I've had of situations where I hit a stationary medium/heavy mech with 3 PPC shots and the armor only turned yellow.
I've killed more mechs with my backup lasers than with the PPCs.
And don't even try to shoot a light mech at high or low range.
Ballistic projectiles work, but with PPCs it's really random if a hit counts or not.
It would also help if the target reticle would only turn red if you really hit and dealt damage.
I went back to running my 9M as laserboat (3 ERLL+ 3 ML) and dmg jumped up 30-50% compared to dmg with PPCs.
As it is now, the high range of the ERPPC is kinda useless anyway because it's too slow for such distances.

I got a ping of about 110ish and for example with AC20 (Hunchie, Cent), I have absolutely no problem to hit (with leading the target). Do PPCs and ACs really use different hit detection methods?

Finished the match with around 81 damage I think, most of which I suppose came from the medium lasers I was using when we were finishing off their last few mechs.

The same with lasers.
The only weapons that work fine for me is ballistic ones, now.

Glad to here not the only one.
Inregards to ping, I sit at 330 on avg (on other side of world) which, yes for moving shots I gather, but stand still and hit them? Maybe lagged out but seems a bit much, got sick of it and went on one of my lights:P

That means I'm a very very lucky guy - or the ping hsr issues are in sync with my reaction time while firing Peps.

My usual bad ping is around 800. Realistically it's in the 300-500 range.
I run a twin PPC Raven and more often than not rack up more damage than I should in it given my ping. Granted I'm normally targeting Assaults.

plus they tend to shoot "through" a target on some locations (between arm and side torso hitboxes mostly) when they normally should hit...could be the ping, dunno...(i´m between 110 and 120 ms)

This. I've noticed this especially on mechs like the Kintaro or the Treb. almost as if they actually do have a little gap between hitboxes that I manage to shoot through just as they stop.

That's just when these things become really obvious.
Shooting a moving target while moving yourself, yes, shots can miss.
But shooting at a stationary target while not moving and hits don't register? Now, that means there's something fishy.
And because someone mentioned laser hit reg.
Yes sometimes it surprises me...in a bad way.
When you alpha that deep red CT and nothing happens, or when you can fire at a light mech for minutes without dealing any significant damage...
