I'm talking about chassis or variant. For me, it has to be the Commandos that take the top seat. the 3A with 2 ML 1 SRM6 and an xl235 is king when it comes to legging assaults. 167 kph, range and cooldown for srm 6 and cooldown for mls, perfect mix for this little guy. I remember my first light, the Commando COM-2D, and hating mastering the COM's because of how underpowered they were, but MY LITTLE ONES HAVE RETURNED TO GLORY.

What's yours?
DRG?
QKD?
TDR?
COM?
LCT?
HBK?

Thunderbolt. I only have one(that I got for free), but I never ever thought I would seriously consider buying one.

The Thud. Ran them, levelled them, shelved them in favor of pretty much anything else in the same tonnage range because they're hitboxes weren't worth the reward for getting in close and brawling. Oh look, they have a niche again!

Hunchback I love the mech from previous games but even though it was good sized medium it felt pretty lackluster in terms of damage. Although I haven't piloted it much since the medium que exploded.

I would definitely say my favorite mech, the Awsome. I fooled around here and there after I mastered them all, but the only effective builds were LRM boats. Most energy heavy IS mechs were almost wasted in a game because their heavy weapons put out a lot of heat, and their backup lasers just stacked onto it. The amount of damage you could put out before overheating was lacking and map heat effected your mech more then any other type. If you had good heat management, you were probably undergunned for your size(baring lights), if you had good firepower, you got two, maybe 3 good shots before you shut down or ran off to cool down.

The AWS 8q in particular suffered from this, being an older design game wise, and being a total energy loadout. If you got a 400-500 damage point game, you were doing really well. If you got above that, the stars aligned and the sun eclipsed. It was frustrating to see a mech that was 10-15 tons smaller then you plow strait at your awsome with its ACs blasting, knowing that it was just going to do more damage and that your only hope was to shoot off arms and torsos, hoping that you were aiming well that day. Because when it came to CT blasting, it just didn't put out enough damage/heat to last, especially with its odd CT hit box issues. Now it is a completely different mech. It is able to put out a scary amount of firepower without overheating. It fires 3 ppcs(with cooldown mod) like a friggin machine gun and the heat isn't an issue. I think it can finally be counted as a major threat.

Now...did they need to make the aws 8r a scarier missile boat? Not really, but the thing is a beast now, probably the best missile boat in the game in my opinion. With range mod and cooldown mods, its lrm 15s can chain fire 3 continuously at 1350 meters and over 2k rounds of ammo along with bap and a command module. That and the heat is not bad with 3 lrm 15s. Add to that, if you want to brawl, it can mount 4 srm 6s with range buffs that give them a 350m range.

SDR-5V, but I tried it again and it's still terribad. It was my very first 'mech (weep for me), so it has a special place in my heart, but it makes the case that there needed to be a super special tier 6 for just it and maybe a couple of other variants.

Hunchback also... the last time I piloted one was way over a year and then I read someone about the 4J and decided to give it a try. I'm not into LRMs usually but I must admit that I'm having fun with it as it's different from what I'm used to.

I'm surprised so many said Hunchback. That has always been a good mech (just now it is better).

Locust.... all of them. The changes made me actually buy a second XL190 engine because they felt like playable mechs now. Still too squishy for my tastes, but I actually think it's not a bad mech now, even if it's still not my favorite light by a long shot.

The standard dragons, I drive Fang and Flame a LOT, but there was no reason to ever take a 1N, 5N or 1C over Fang or Flame. Nice to have a reason for my other Dragons. Shame the quirks on the Flame were terrible and I feel like with everything else getting better and it essentially staying the same except the CT buff that it's actually less competitive than it was before.

I THOUGHT for sure I was going to bring my Catapult-K2 out of the far back of my garage after abandoning it back in closed beta but nope... quirks didn't address the heat issues so it will remain gutted.

The Huggin. Except I sold it.
I thought it was such a piece of trash (pre-quirk) that I couldn't stand looking at it. Now I wish I had it back, but I can't bear to spend the MC on it a second time because I suspect they will nerf the SRM spam on it eventually. It looks really fun to play now with the continuous SRM volleys.

You use the MPL modules with it?
I have been doing well in it.

XL255, 2mpl, BAP, JJ, max armor

Less firepower than a Locust and im getting over 200 damage matches.

Thuds and Wolverines.

Quirks and Pulse buff made me go "Full Wublord" as Fantastic Tuesday put it.

Wubverine is Weapon X

You have one Right hand of Doom! Dont lose it.

Remember kids, with great power comes...great QQ !!!!!!

Im saving for Thuds now.

Locust. And now that I've tried it a second time, I'm never piloting it again.

GGquirks.
