those are probably distorted by perspective. even the spider from taht angle has a huge hump

That upper body looks disproportionally bulky compared to the spindly arms and legs. It's like a bloated cartoon character. But hey, at least it's scaled rather well. That's a good sign at least.

I wish it had some torso mounted hardpoints because those arms will drop really fast. Otherwise I really like it, they got the size spot-on!

One possible way to preserve the arms might be to go full derp and try to play fire support with 2 LRM5 (along with 3 lasers of your choice). But that would probably get invalidated the moment any enemy with AMS showed up. :\
