Drop in to caustic in my cicada 1m (I am just learning how to use it). I had just put 2erllas on it to try the whole sniper thing (not my greatest strength) Run to sniper hill and poke over the top, perfect Los to enemies, none looking my way. Yes! Aim and shoot...3mlas on the cicada 2a*face-palm* why don't I pay attention to which mech I am dropping in before I actually drop.

CW dropping with my Brigade in one of my Catapult mechs. Facing a good team with a poke and shoot strategy that is holding us up at the gate. Tough to catch a lock so I was dumb firing into the gap to suppress. As I pull back a bit my finger was stilll on the trigger! Volley goes wide and akmost hits a friendly T-Bolt ... whew! Resolve to wait for a lock on the next shot. Locking.... pull the trigger and OH @#$! I lose the lock at the last second. Helpless, I watch my LRM volley crash down... right into the back of my teams Battlemaster, who spins around to see... me. Doh. So sorry dude...

I really hate it when I swap out my weapons but forget to regroup. I just went into a match with 2 ppcs, 1 LL and an LRM 15 all in group 1, 1 LL in group 2 and an SSRM in group 4. Doh!! Rookie mistake, I know.

I cannot tell you how many times I have aimed at an enemy about 300m away and fired oh say machine guns, mlas, and srm because of this. Then comes the mad scramble to get to cover so you can regroup them :)

My stupid is, I was at a meeting last night and when it was over I walked to the door slipped on a pair of black shoes and left. I realized when I got home they were not my black shoes and in fact the only thing they had in common wih my shoes is that they were black! Now I have to find out whose shoes I stole and hope they found a pair to wear home :D

I turned some of he video settings up to see if my computer could handle it. Two weeks later I am wondering why my frame rate is so terrible...

I need to resurrect this thread to share my latest "Doh!" I was in a Cataphract on Caustic. I am running a rather hot ac20, 4 ml, really big engine build. The match is a really close one, I am doing fairly well with 2 kills as we round down to a 2 v 2 with me and a Timby against a hunchback and a catapult. The timberwolf takes out the catapult and I catch up in time to help with the Hunchie. Unfortunately the Timberwolf goes down so it is me verses the Hunchback. I am running really hot, but so is he and he shuts down. I hit override thinking that one more shot will finish him. Unfortunately it doesn't and he powers up and starts to run away. I give chase not realizing that I am still really hot. I start getting warnings like "Critical damage, medium laser destroyed" But I am too busy preparing my victory speech to notice. And then BOOM "3xnihilo has killed 3xnihilo" so I never realized that being overheated continues to do damage while you are too hot, it isn't just a hit when you initially cross the heat threshold. So instead of having a legendary tale to tell of how I led my team to victory, I get a confession of how I gift wrapped the win and handed it to the enemy with a pretty little bow on top.

When I was just learning the game I climbed up one of the hills on Canyon to peek and managed to hit some chat button right there on top.
Now, if you don't know that Enter will send your chat and close the window you are basically stuck. On top of a hill. Most frantic mwo-death to date for me.

Well, there was the time I forgot to "always check your target" and accidentally headshot the friendly SHD behind the enemy BLR. Or the time that I accidentally popped a unit mate's CT with dual gauss trying to hit the enemy engaging him in the back. Or the time I shredded a friendly DRG-1N's business arm trying to kill an enemy something-or-other.

In hindsight, I, uh, might have a bit of a one-track mind sometimes.

With a group of 4, in my Orion with AC/20, chasing down a Locust that was limping along on one leg. Fire AC/20 at locust as soon as arms swing over it (4 MLs in the arms). Torso still slightly off, AC/20 blows the back CT out of the friendly Spider on the other side of the Locust. I couldn't have made that shot if I'd tried. Still, he wasn't too happy with me.

Trying out my brand new BNC-3M in Viridian Bog. Running at the front of the pack and having killed one light scout already, see a couple enemy mechs on top of a hill. Go to start looking for a way around the hill and up. Completely fail to notice that the rest of my group has backed off to go the other way around a different hill. Die horribly when I round the corner to the stairs and face off against at least 6 of the other team...all by myself. They included an Ebon Jaguar, Warhawk, and Atlas in the front of the pack. I did less than 200 damage that match, and half of it was probably to the light.

I been having a bit of fun with the LCT-1V, then decided to start mastering the Locust for my first mech. Queued in and found myself in Viridian Bog, Kill'em all mission! Okay i need the practice for my survival in lights.

So happens there was Spider in the same lance as I. He has ECM, I'll stay with him and hope to soak some lance formation XP. We come across an Atlas who fell behind his line. Two lights should be able to drop him easy enough.

Atlas panics, and proceeds to protect his back by leaning on the wall. Now the Spider pilot and I are hugging this Atlas's legs like two children whom are happy to see daddy!

I had forgot I remapped my mouse to pop smoke for arty strikes.. yep hit the button. I did get the kill for the Atlas, and the kill for the friendly Spider, and died in my own mess.. Sorry Spider >.< if ya thought the Atlas popped smoke, please forget you read this post.

One of my biggest blunders was when I was playing a conquest on Canyon Network, in my Timberwolf FrankenMech..

So the match begins, and I immediatelly start going towards the left-side cap point.. ok.. As I'm geting there, I see an enemy spider allready there and capping..

I'm like, ok, have some LRM and get off my cap point please! So he sees me, and runs away. The rest of my team is heading to the usual central point kill zone. As I begin to cap, I realise I am alone. And then the spider returns.. and brings an Atlas, a King crab and a Hellbringer with him. 3 seconds later, I'm in for a 13 minute spectate session.. Yaaay me.
