Wasn't quite sure if this belonged here or Fan Fiction as I can't find anything like it already in either forum.

So I have here a collection of cadences (and a song?) that one of the players in the campaign and myself came up with. During the last session there was the question of what Mechwarrior PT would be like, and as anyone knows you can't do PT without a good cadence. These are essentially modified versions of actual cadences. Hope you find them entertaining! :)

Union Dropship sitting on the strip,
Company of 'Mechs on a one-way trip.
Mission top-secret; destination unknown,
Don’t even know if we’re ever coming home.

Sit down, buckle up, wait for the drop.
My knees got weak, I wanted to stop.
Atlas behind picked me up with ease,
Tossed my 'Mech into the breeze.

Count one-thousand, two-thousand, three-thousand, four.
My retros fired with a mighty roar.
But if my mains don't slow me down,
I got reserve thrusters strapped around.

But if those ones should fail me too,
Look out ground I'm a-comin' through.
If I die on the old drop zone,
Box me up and ship me home.

Well if I die on a Clanner's hill,
Take my tech or the Blakists will.
Pin my medals upon my chest,
And then bury me in the leaning rest.

High ho, lock and load!
The engines are running; we’re ready to go!
We'll kill the enemy and take their scrap,
So early, so early, so early in the mornin'.

The Catapults are up on the hill.
They're locked and loaded and ready to kill.
Kill, kill, I know they will!
So early, so early, so early in the mornin'

The Lyran Guard are creepin’ slow.
Griffins and Banshees all in tow,
They'll kill the enemy and take their scrap,
So early, so early, so early in the mornin'.

The Sparrowhawks are flying low
Short-range missiles are ready to go
They'll kill the enemy and take their scrap
So early, so early, so early in the mornin'

Dropships are in the sky,
All 'Mechs will drop and some will die.
They'll kill the enemy and take their scrap,
So early, so early, so early in the mornin'.

The Highlander is on the hill.
You better watch out; I’m here to kill.
Kill, kill, you know I will!
So early, so early, so early in the morning.

The 'Mechs go marching by again,
Huzzah! Huzzah!
They'll give us a warm farewell then,
Huzzah! Huzzah!

The men will cheer, the boys will shout;
Ladies come to throw flowers out,
And they’ll all cry over
Our bones bleaching in the Tukayyid sun

The old church bell will peal with joy,
Huzzah! Huzzah!
They’re glad to see their kids deploy,
Huzzah! Huzzah!

The lads and lassies will be gay,
With roses they will strew the way,
And they’ll all cry over
Our bones bleaching in the Tukayyid sun

Get ready for the Jubilee,
Huzzah! Huzzah!
They'll give the heroes three times three,
Huzzah! Huzzah!

The battlemechs are ready now,
To lose this day we can’t allow,
And they’ll all cry over
Our bones bleaching in the Tukayyid sun

Give love and friendship on this day,
Huzzah, Huzzah!
They cheer as we leave the 'Mechbay,
Huzzah, Huzzah!

And let each one perform some part,
To fill with joy the warrior's heart,
And they’ll all cry over
Our bones bleaching in the Tukayyid sun

He was just a rookie pilot and he surely shook with fright,
He checked all of the 'Mechs systems and strapped his neurohelmet tight
He had to sit and listen to the fusion engine roar:
"You ain't gonna drop no more!"

CHORUS:
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
He ain't gonna drop no more!

"Is everybody happy?" cried the Sergeant powering up,
Our Hero feebly answered "Yes", and then his 'Mech stood up,
He dropped into the icy blast, his retro engines primed
He ain't gonna drop no more!

CHORUS

He counted long, he counted loud, he waited for the shock,
He saw the ground, he felt the blast, he felt the awful drop,
The fuel lines for his retros snapped and dangled in the wind,
He ain't gonna drop no more!

CHORUS

The thrusters coughed and failed, his harness froze in place,
Release clamps were unresponsive and fear washed over his face,
The cockpit became his coffin and he hurtled to the ground.
He ain't gonna drop no more!

CHORUS

The days he'd lived and loved and laughed kept running through his mind,
He thought about the girl back home, the one he'd left behind;
He thought about the salvage teams and wondered what they'd find,
He ain't gonna drop no more!

CHORUS

The MFB was on the spot, the Scorpions were running wild,
The techs jumped and screamed with glee, rolled up their sleeves and smiled,
For it had been a week or more since last a drop had failed,
He ain't gonna drop no more!

CHORUS

He hit the ground, the sound was CRUNCH, coolant went spurting high;
His comrades, they were heard to say "A hell of a way to die!"
He lay there, rolling 'round in the welter of his gore,
He ain't gonna drop no more!

CHORUS

There was blood upon the armor, there were brains upon the roof,
Intestines were a-dangling from his tattered cooling suit,
He was a mess, they picked him up, and poured him from his boots,
And he ain't gonna drop no more!

Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
He ain't gonna drop no more!

Shouldn't this go into the "Fan Fiction" board not here?

As I stated, I'm not really sure. It's not really fiction. I trust the mods.

Sorry I was half asleep, didn't even read a whole lot of it.
