I am 100% certain this is one of those "be careful what you wish for" deals, where the reality of this is not as wonderful as expected.

Sure, you could get instant match-finding times. But at what cost to the quality of the match?

Logged in just to like this and other posts here. Great idea, would play this almost exclusively as I tend to swap mech choice every fews rounds anyways.

It seems like an excellent way to speed up the matchmaker by artificially inflating the resource pool of players.

I like this idea. Have a drop deck ready of ready mechs, and number of any weight class.
The matchmaker views you as 1 possible participant for each weight class in your drop deck (so you could be eligible for up to 4 slots if you had at least one mech of each weight class). Once it finds and opening for your Elo and weight class parameter, it then grabs a random chassis from your drop deck (assuming you have more than 1 of a given weight class), and locks your seat.
