some games people carry and do excellent team work like a light escorts an assault. Do good scouting etc it would be nice to be able to give them some recognition after the game ends like a button that gives them some kind of points which promotes good team work.

After certain number of points accumulated it would be nice to have a distinct username or lockon tag appear for people who do well and play friendly good team player.

like when you lock on targets a small sign like a military rank badge indicating that this player is an exceptional pilot.

I would love to grind for a stat like this and brag on other players that i am one of the best.

make it very difficult to get this stat so not everyone can have one. 5000 honor points eg
and have an option to turn badge showing on or off.

Kinda like League of Legend's honor points? I sure hope the end game chat won't devolve into people begging to be honored.

or get data of how much kill u get per match like 5 + kill or good scouting will count as 1 point and u will need 5000 of those points to get the badge shown in game during lock on by enemies on you.

One advantage to something like this is giving new players an indicator of who to follow at the start of the match. A simple icon over an experienced player might help the pack stick together, rather than new players following other new players off into the weeds. And if the player population grows such that new players never get matched with veterans (a man can dream), then an indicator over the "most" experienced player(s) on the team might do the trick.

I support the idea.

I wouldn't mind visible ranks in addition to ELO. Could be something like Battlefield where it just goes up with experience and playtime, or it could be something like Halo 3 where it goes up/down depending up how well you play.

Anything visual to make it obvious who the veterans and the newbs are. Giving extra points for taking down higher ranked players would be a cool feature too. I know PGI will never do this though because they're too worried about people ganking newbs first or blaming low level players for a loss. I don't see the first thing being at problem as newbs are often marked with a (C) or just do something silly and get killed anyway

They should display the headshot achievements then also, to add a little fear :D

Just display W/L ratio above player's mech so that good players can stick together and noobs learn what to do.

NO way, no any stupid tags or anything, learn to play not to follow. If you are a good pilot, people will notice that anyway.

btw as a light mech I can't escort assaults and scout at the same time, you know...

I already recognize most good players before the game begins. Its a small gaming community.

If they are begging they don't deserve it. -_-

I think this could work, with 2 provisos. First, it would have to be visible to friendly units only. Reasons should be obvious. Second, it would have to be a ratio of "MVP points" earned to games played. Otherwise it turns the entire game into a gigantic leaderboard challenge grind-fest.

Something like a +1 button would be nice, it should be limited however:
1) No more than 5 per day per player.
2) Each player should not be able to +1 another player more than once.
3) It should be possible to undo the +1 on a player.

I would like to see the players that I gave a +1 in the past in order to stick with them.

Honor points...dunno.

CARRY points? Now...that could tell you about someone!

Someone has carry-points you know they come to fight.

Dead guy QQing with no carry points...yeah, suspect sandbagger with a rating all could point out.

Would have to be based on performance while losing.

Could just do it by voting match MVP based on tournament scores (assists, kills, NARC etc.)

+1 provided you add that Player to your Friends list. Not everyone is looking for "recognition for just doing their job". If my buddy wants to +1 me for a GG, then OK. I get to decide who gets to give me +1's, not others. ;)

P.S. Yes, it is tough being Kermit green. ;)

Nah, there isn't enough players for this system to work. I recognize too many names in games (solo queue). It would be too easy to just circle-point each other. Not saying I wouldn't deserve it, but I'm saying the points are open to abuse :).

CS has this feature where you can give people credit for being 1. kind 2. leader 3. teacher. I have no idea what these points do, but they're a thing for some reason. We can just use our forum "likes" as a metric for our awesome factor. WASH ME IN INSINCERE FORUM PRAISE, PLEBS!!11

People seem to forgotten a simple thank you.
Whenever someone saves my Stalker's tin can from a mech.
I allways take a sec to say thanks.
And if I can remember their name's post them a pm.
To all the light pilots out there who saved a big Red Stalker.
I say........
Thanks!
