But if you have friends on both sides, you cannot do CW with both groups. Given that we have CW only maps, that is kind of lame. Also I have mechs I will never be able to use on those maps if I am aligned to a faction.

Its almost like its a faction based system eh...? ;)

Can we please look into making CW more solo friendly? I know some people might consider this selfish but I really don't want to have to join a unit in order to participate competitively in Clan Wars.

I personally am not really in a position where I can commit to the type of playstyle required to be in a unit, ie being on at specific times in order to practice as a unit or take part in organized groups. That being the case, I am going to have to rely on occasionally logging in while CW is going on and dropping myself into the solo que. If this is going to result in me playing on the losing team 90% of the time, then there is really no part in my taking part in CW and if there is no reason for me to take part in CW, there definitely isn't any reason for me to continue investing in this game. I might continue to play but there will be zero reasons to invest in Premium time, mechs or anything else.

Also I am sure I am not the only one in this situation which means losing alot of paying customers.

I'm a bit worried/confused?

First off, I'm a casual player. I have a life that involves lots of travel and a girlfriend that tends to get a bit annoyed if I spend all my time playing stompy robot, so I can't really get into any game hardcore style with guilds and big groups and all that. I just wanna play big robot and stomp around once in a while.
I also have a few IS mechs and some Clan mechs.

Will I be able to play 'properly' (i.e. like now) with my mechs, or will I have to mothball either my clan mechs or my IS mechs?
I know from previous games that it's hard to game coordinated with people if you often just have like 30-60 minutes of playtime a few times a week, so how will that work with these factions? Do I have to sign a contract for a month, or will the current game-system remain (with incredibly long wait times as a possibility because of lack of players)?

Can I join CW (and lose 90% of the time) with say my IS mechs, but still be able to join the 'normal' queue with my clan mechs?

the issue is, normally games force you to choose a faction before you make freinds, to make sure not being able to make freinds with a different faction. MWO is now doing that thing the other way around. which of course gonna create issues.

Yes. There will be three communities: solo queue, group queue, and the new CW. CW doesn't affect solo or group queue as they exist now. (Except for development resources)

Just wanted to say thanks for this transcript! I don't watch videos and having the transcript is an easier way for me to keep up with the changes!

Why are the points that are evidently important to the community absolutely unimportant to the devs?

Command rose, VOIP, boinked up Jump Jet animation, Timberderp, maps, ECM, non-weapon quirks.
All of them unknown ETA. All of them "maybe later".

And some answers are outright insulting the reader´s intelligence.

Where is this island they are on?
Are there customers on this island?

And serioulsy, PUGs filling up a CW team? This is a joke. This must be a joke.

Anyways, thank you for your work Zeece.

When the solo queue dries up and the group queues have 20 minute wait times because of CW, what else are they going to do?

Yeah, because solo players are going to want to submit themselves to dying every match and getting yelled at by the group players. Solo players will abandon that hot mess quickly and small groups will probably follow suit when they start getting steamrolled by the 10-12 man comp groups. Just wait until early next year. The faction tab will be a glorified comp league scoreboard.

So can you still set a game mode that you prefer? For example, prefer conquest, assault not preferred but would still play, and veto skirmish, is that something that could happen?

I believe the way that he stated it you could veto Skirmish and then have an equal chance of either Conquest or Assault. This way you never play the vetoed mode.

I am going to throw out a prediction here.

3 months into CW.

Clans autowin. No groups defend anymore.
One third of CW games are resolved by people quitting mid-game.
Mostly because they see their trial Mech driving "teammates" wander off, die and then disco. (Expletives optional)

PUG queue = healthy
Group queue = as it is now
CW = a handful of groups still play. Around 80-100 players in total. Nobody else.

PGI = totally surprised

I must say I do find it annoying that CW prevents us from using the 'mechs we have paid real money for.

I understand Clan vs. IS is cool, but it'd be awesome if each account could have an IS and Clan aligned profile. Or some other way to allow us to play CW with buddies of the opposite faction.

Take a 1-month contract, switch sides on next contract, end of problem. ;)

So how might one get a testing invitation? I would love to be a part of that. I'm sure many in the Seraphim would be happy to take part.

And thanks for the updates and work. Lot's of good stuff!

I don't see it that way.

Let's use MMOs as an example.

Community Warfare = End Game Raids

So with that you would probably join a guild in an MMO before you went off and fought the end boss dragon. The rest of the questing for the MMO would be like the normal drops in MWO.

It seems like everyone is set on this idea that units are some sort of hardcore group that gives orders with ranking structures and the like. I have been in some of those, but there are plenty that are just groups of folks that like to blow up mechs together and don't get bent out of shape if they lose. Not all units are uber-competitive yelling groups.
