The motion blur you're disabling is the added motion blur effect you can add while turning and moving the cockpit around.

The motion blur you CANNOT disable is the blur that results from the following weapons:
- Missiles

No other weapons have motion blur, sooooooo...

When it comes to screen shake, that's another option you cannot disable.

No option for that. Someone thought it is a cool feature but underestimated the amount of "incoming shake". Because of that there have been several adjustments to the shake from hits.

You can't, it's a game mechanic to let you know you're being hit.

It's also a valid tactic, as some weapons have very little use outside of causing this shake effect.

Basically, it's "working as intended".

Motion blur in settings refers to the blur you see on moving mechs, which is just an annoying effect that most people have turned off, as it reduces performance and looks terrible.

My only problem with the motion blur is that it absolutely kills my performance. Which is what usually kills me, not the actual missiles themselves.

Yeah, it is primarily the blur that gets me.

Try the mech module: Improved Gyro. It reduces screen shake caused by missile impact.

motion blur, film grain, bloom (and similar effects).

Whoever came up with that **** in the first place needs to be fired from whatever company they work for and never allowed back into the games industry again.

Bloom is used a lot to make games look legitimately better. The problem is when it becomes overused.

Overused bloom

Good bloom

I am guessing he is talking about impact tremors instead of graphic effects. As above, improved gyros. All of my brawlers mount them and the stability in a close gunfight is dramatically improved.

Look for costum user.cfg files or even better achieve the knowledge and modify/create your own.

I use the config from betocorp and have no annoying effects blocking my sight.

EDIT: The shaking screen can't be disabled i guess scince there is even a module to reduce the screnshake in the game.

What you are experiencing is Screen Shake.
Whenever you are hit by a weapon with force behind it, you're hit with the vibrations of that impact.
If you look at Smurfy's equipment page, note the Impulse column.
This is how much Screen Shake that weapons hits cause.

As said above, you can help reduce this with the Improved Gyros Module for 5000GXP and 2,000,000 C-Bills, which will decrease screen shake by 1/3.

Maybe this thread will help you some ;)

Spoiler
That thread is pretty old. The info being around 7 months to 2 years out of date, though you can glean some useful info from it, I'd say check this thread out for updated, simplified help. :)

Be glad there are no piloting checks to stay standing while this is happening.

Yes, PGI in their wisdom decided that effects which cause headaches in their players is the best way to simulate reality in a mech game where the 100T mechs get stuck when walking into 100lb statues.

EDIT - I bought that module. It works only well enough that you can tell that it's working - your vision is still blurred so the module is basically pointless.

Not to mention the football field sized explosions which are utterly ridiculous in their ability to blind.

Simply put, screen shake from weapon effects is not motion blur. All weapons with Impulse cause screen shake, but generally only missiles or really rapid ballistics cause "lots" of screenshake.

I think i missused the term "screenshake" since it is a part of the game. I was refering to that thing you get when missiles hit you.

Thanks for the post on the user.cfg. I'll play around a bit with that.
