you say free i say to get the goal of 10 mill is a pipe dream for anyone who wants to achieve the goal for completion sake.

this will be the 1st event i don't achieve the goal as 100 scoring matchs is just ludicrous.

they set the standard at 500k a match and now dropped it to 100k

going from 20 to 100 games is just insane, now giveaway they have done in the past has been so cheapskate like this and the formula is so dumb that i've seen people not get a scoring match due to getting too many kills as people are stopping short of killing mechs to avoid getting the kill and not the assist.

Poor formula and lowball cash return to me is being a cheapskate.

So far I've made 400,000 C-bills. I've won about 5-10 matches now and got good results, but I keep forgetting to touch all enemy mechs for the assist points.

Not sure what the problem is. This is the first opt-in tournament I've ever played (largely because I suck), and I've done OK. Have only played about 20 games so far and I've made 4 mill from those games alone, and as 13 of those qualified for the 100k bonus, I've made a further 1.3 mill out of that (and there's still a couple of hours more I can play this evening). I don't think that's bad personally.

Hades, maybe the tournament wasnt meant for you? Perhaps the tournament wasnt made for casual players? Maybe the 10 million c-bill reward is set up to reward grinders working to get on the leader boards?

point is thats just way to excess and this carrot PGI is dnalging in front of people say you can win up to 10 mill is a joke for the average pilot.

If they want me time to play to use for data as there in game testing and such can't do this so they need the community help to achiev this and i'd like to think 32+ hours of gaming to get these 100 scoring matches is too much time for such a small reward

I understand goals but maybe that is your problem in this case. They don't expect you to reach the goal or really want you to reach the goal because the funny thing about goals is that once people reach them, then tend to stop playing. In order to prevent that you stretch the goal out so that it is unlikely all by the most dedicated will hit that goal.

Also there is no standard. That even was a different event which had different rewards, just like the best event they ever had, the Halloween event was a different event with different rewards. Hell if you want to talk about setting a standard, then Halloween is the standard I would like to see from PGI hehe. Point is different events are going to have different rewards, some will be better and others worse.

However if you look at it as a bonus where you can make up to 10 million C-bills and just enjoy the fact that your getting a bonus, then your playing for run rather than grinding out toward some goal. Honestly I think that is PGIs intention in this case.

5M C-Bills of rewards.
167 matches, 1 day of premium (used 15 hours of it), and near 20 hours of gameplay ... Approximatly 21M C-Bills accumulated bonus excluded.
I'm exhausted. I'm going to work in 2 hours and half but I've lost a whole night of sleep to finally get this.

I made 2.3mil on the cbill bonus. Probably 8mil from the games score.

Was mostly shooting to get in top 100 of the Merc Corp leader board. I came woefully short, but had a rather good time in my Pretty Baby.

Exactly 5 Mil. Planning to get to 5.5 before the event ends. My freshly mastered 8R is cleaning the house! I ended the tourney at #12 Marik.

I was more than happy to take the kills because it meant more ceebies for me immediately after the match and more often than not I'd still qualify for the extra 100k anyway.

3.7 M c-bills. 50% of my matches quailfied. Played Jester (4xLL), Wang (AC20+2ML) and Griffin-3M (4xASRM4) so really didn't bother to optimize for this challange - just played my normal game. A bit surprised that the Wang was so effective, got 19/25 matches when using that mech.

My view is that yes the 100,000 C-Bills per qualifying match was disappointingly low. Then again it's still a better than average event-bribe. I played a good bit this weekend, but not as much as I would have had it been one of those 6.5mil C-Bill events from a few months ago. I ended up with 5.1mil C-Bills. Mostly by leveling up my trio of Shadow Hawks I bought on sale.

All in all, I'm very glad it wasn't another free cockpit items event like the Tonnes of Fun event was. I don't value any of the cockpit items or warhorns at all. I want Mechbays, 'Mechs, MC, C-Bills, and GXP in that order. They gave me C-Bills, so ultimately i'm happy.

Yes, if they had made the reward better I would have played almost twice as much. But then again, if they had made it a "free cupcake" only event, I wouldn't have played at all. - In fact, that's what I recommend everyone should do:

If the event is not good enough for you, I recommend not playing at all. If it's semi-good, then play a bit, but don't dedicate your weekend to it. And if the event is totally sweet like the Halloween event was, then it's time to milk it for all it's worth.

PGI will look at the participation numbers each weekend, and adjust the event rewards accordingly.

O.K. well you wanted to know so here it goes. 2 mil. I ended up just out of the top 100 for clan wolf. I didn't even expect to get that high, I only had a chance to play 28 matches this weekend. I played 100% solo drop. I would have done much better with groups but I wanted to play solo. You only had to play smart to score, but I played viciously, bawlz out. I loved it, so many people backed off from killing only wanting an assist that once you got a red torso it was like you got a hall pass to kill, most of my matches ended up with half kills half assists with top damage on the team. Of course I was stomped on like a little girl a few times, I even made that squeaky whimper on death, it happens.

You sir need to get more time in the field because as of now...

Ppl bitchin' about "100 games for 10mil" should consider: They do not have to give us the challenges. They could just leave you withpout any rewards.

Also it's not that hard, out of my 40 matches this weekend 38 qualified. And I sam not really good either. Just shoot everything that blips up once, then proceed killing whatever you've been shooting. Made me hold top 15 for... well, 8 hours or so until decent people got online and kicked me back to 100

(Or, people that got carried by their clan, since in the end you needed 12 Assists and ~950 damage in 10 games to even get remotely close to the top 20.)

Scoring system is silly, punishes players for getting the last hit.. someone in my team on friday got an 8 kill 1 assist game, by anyones standards an exceptional game - and it didn't qualify.

I'd suggest the following system to eliminate stupid playstyles:

Kill = 10 points
Assist = 10 points
Kill most damage dealt = 5 points
Solo Kill = 5 points

That works out at 20 points for a solo kill, 10 points for an assist, but doesn't reward KSing since last hit without most dmg is only worth the same as an assist anyway.
