How are these people in the Challenge scoring 3000+ points? Over 300 points per game? How is that possible? Collusion?

Playing in a group + spraying damage over every enemy in sight. Yeah, possible.

With the right group drop, or just constant play and luck in Solo, you can rack up enough matches to do it pretty easily.

On more than one occasion I've racked up 12 assists and just over 1,000 damage in a Griffin 3m with triple chain-fire LRMs and medium lasers. That's enough for a 326ish score, and I did it in PUG. I imagine most of the folks over 3k are doing something similar, but can get the benefit of consistent performance from group matches.

If anyone finishes in the top 15 with less than 3000 score, it will be shocking.

all meta builds on the top leaderboards....try to hit every enemy once, trying to do as much damage as possible before end of game, no matter if died at the end

1) select ECM raven.
2) equip two ER larges.
3) get into solo match.
4) scratch every enemy mech for assists.
5) do excessive damage to the enemy.
6) wait for your team to secure all the worthless kills.

That's it.

Yup it's the LRM spam. Simple, effective, and cheese.

If you just play your game, instead of trying to game the game, then you will have a fun game every game. :D

But what if your game is gaming the game?

My game is gaming those who game the game when they play the game.

The minimum for 10 "perfect" matches (12 assists per match + winning the match) is 2600. Then you add the points for damage.

Collusion? Easily. A 12-man can decide before the match which team member is going to go for 12 assists in that match. Using TS and months (or years) of training together as a team, they can then make sure he gets those 12 assists during their win. It doesn't always work, but they have a far better chance.

I only played long enough to make sure I got a Hula Girl. By the time I'd quit I was surprised to see I'd been No. 1 on the leaderboard for almost 3 hours (though my score has long been surpassed by many others since then).

I don't know that it necessarily has to be "collusion". My personal best score so far in this this is a 248. That's only out of like 8 matches and that was only 10 assists. If someone plays enough and hard enough, they can rack up 10 games of 300 or more without any kind of special assistance. It's not like the tournament averages all your scores so low ones drag you down. All you have to do is have 10 pretty good games out of however many dozens or hundreds of drops you do.

Dont know about you but I opted in for the extra 100k Cbills/match. Get 100 Qualifying matches and you've made 10m Cbills just for playing.
