Don't care what it is.
The real question is, does it eat legs?

So has anyone seen this on the actual game map? Or did they just add this in for the video? If you did see it, where and how often?

I was just there, fighting in the remains of its carcass.

Oh, wait, you mean the actual smaller living one?

It does, however, bring to mind...

There be thresher maws...

Got it on video last night when running around. Need to get my video editing software out and get it posted.

I'll see what I can do today.

Cheers

I saw it last night. I have no idea where I was, or even which base I started from. I know I went left when everyone else went right, and I think it was just less than halfway across the map. I blurted out to my team, "There's something alive in the water!", lol. No one said anything, so I didn't know if it was just old news at that point or just me being a noob.

I had the benefit of dropping several times on this map. It's really awesome. Only thing I'm not a fan of is the sense of scale. I know, alien planet and all, but I wish there was something that reaffirmed exactly how big you actually are. Don't get me wrong, the plants and trees are really cool. But, for example, the steps up to the plateaus (I'm assuming they are supposed to be some kind of ruin and not just convenient terrain) could have been scaled down so you still feel like a mech, and not a toy in the garden. Even a crashed dropship or something would help.

I give whoever captures that planet about...1 week before they recreate the battle from starship troopers but with mechs.

I found the spot from the video. It's along the E3/D3 grid line, in a pond with a bunch of ...eels? swimming around in it. And yes, the little beast pops up about once a minute.

Actually that is a natural geological formation that can be caused by hot springs. Here is a link to a good example.
