Color, sunlight, and tasteful use of filters. Why did it take almost three years before we could have a map like this?

Looks nothing like in game though. Ask PGI about the lack of such maps before, and no doubt they will blame IGP.

Both those screenshots were taken in-game, by me, not more than an hour ago.

i7 3770K
GTX 670
16 GB RAM

My PC is two years old and I play this game in highest settings (except shadows, those are at high settings) and it looks as in the screenshot above with over 60 fps (Vsync is on to actually not go over 60fps, because its wasted heat)

All I see is Swamp ass pilots, everywhere. fidgeting in their seats and missing shots to try and vent their ass cheeks out.

If you would not overclock you would still get the same experience but use less energy and produce less heat and thus have a quiter system, just saying.

Have the smoke damage effects changed with this patch ?

I thought they looked a bit different, lighter and much more volumetric...could it just be the lighting on the new map ?

Somehow this gets brought up every single time someone comments on MWO's graphics.

Do we really have to go through all the reasons why this is a silly comparison? ;)

Good, now have them go and brighten up the rest of the maps so they dont look so dark that its like midnight at noon on them all.....I had a person on HPG say they couldnt see me, and thats why they were standing there letting me shoot them...so damn dark I guess I blended in with the background.

Yep If something keeps getting brought up, maybe there's something to it ;)

This time the scale is spot on perfect to crysis, its like the mechs are just about the size of a human now.

As good as Viridian swamp is, aking a look at CE-mapeditor´s capabilities and seeing the maps that are getting put out to us I merely have to smile sad ... andam relieved that we finally get "some" quality in maps .
And learning how to use CE takes some time though ... about 3 years, give or take .
Hmmm, funnily there is giga-ton of really awesome modellers and mappers for CE scurrying arround the whole globe that could have taught some people much and saved time, nerves and ongoing gaming dreariness .

But hey, shuttin down MWLL sounded like a good idea as ell at some point in time ... instead of profiting from them through co-op, team inclusion or even as outside contractors for art/assets/maps, but hey, who the arse am I to judge companies and their business behaviour, strategic visions or even some "output efficiency" as a wee little machine tooling engineer knowing noting about how gaming or it´s production works in an artistic environment (yea, I see games more as art than just mere time-killing entertainment, and woking as artist under crunchtime pressure makes for, let´s say "hasty" decisions) ... seen many games in my 28 years of playing electronic games so how could I dare rate anybody trying anything today, I must be an evil person ^^

;)
