You buy clans 1 and 2 you get all the IS and the Mad Dog bonus.
I buy Founder, Phonenix, and Resistance..Same IS bonus. No other bonus?
Think about it. Maybe. I would like to see the medium Crab as a bonus for us IS Spheroids.

I still say the bonus/reward mechs should have been based on total money spent on the game. Though with that said top tier Clan pack 1 + 2 is $80 more than top tier Founders + Phoenix + Resistance. Also both clan packs are still available compared to just one of the IS packs.

I didn't want to personally include my clan A La Carte 3 mech purchase and purchase of a few Hero's. So maybe total $ like you are saying. I just want more IS (Spheroid) incentives. Also the fact that if someone bought only clan packs, why are they given IS bonuses?

They also have to navigate how things apply to new players. I, for instance, wasn't able to buy Founders or Phoenix ... but I would if I could. If they put out a new exclusive benefit, they'd need to let new folks be able to attain it - like "buy two IS packs" and make sure there were two IS packs to buy but Founders / Phoenix would qualify already.

Or, you know, let me buy those just for the Founder/Phoenix variants and none of the other bells/whistles. I'd be down with that.

Suffice it to say, I don't want a Bonus MAD DOG for my hefty IS purchases.

So, PGI gives out free gifts to players and you demand another free gift because the previous free gifts weren't good enough for you?

If you got a video game from your significant other for Christmas, would you yell at them and demand an additional video game?

You people are ridiculous.

It's important to note that the Mad Dog isn't actually "free." It costs $360, because it requires the user to make $240 + $120 purchases.

No demands were made sir. It would be "nice". If it doesn't happen. I am not gonna hold my breath and stomp my feet. As it were. It is just the bonus Mad Dog always bothered me. Relax.

It does not cost $360. The mechs within the packs cost a total of $360. The Vulture is FREE if you purchase both packs.

Premise 1: The Mad Dog pre-order has the prerequisite purchases of the Masakari and Gargoyle collections.

Premise 2: The Masakari and Gargoyle packs combined cost $360.

Conclusion: One cannot acquire the bonus Mad Dog (until it's out for C-Bills) without paying $360.

No, it's not "free" (until released for C-Bills). It comes as part of two packages that cost money. If the packages themselves were free, then the MDD would be too. But since the packages required to get it require money, the mech itself does indirectly cost money by definition.

Note: I'm not here to agree or disagree with the thread's author, I'm just pointing out a faulty line of logic. Those annoying "as seen on TV" ads, among others, are masters at exploiting this trick...

Nope. The Vulture is still free. The packs cost 360 total. There is no extra charge on top of that for the Vulture. It is a free gift for purchasing both packs.

The 360 you pay is for the mechs within the mech packs. The only way the Vulture would cost somebody 360 is if the ONLY reason they're buying the packs is for the Vulture and they never plan on using the other mechs included with the packs.

I got the Atlas S because I purchased the Overlord package. Did the Atlas S cost me 80 bucks?

If something comes "free" with a $360 package, that means you needed to spend $360 in order to get that gift. If you had to spend money for it, it ain't free. It's pretty straightforward.

Okay, I think I see part of our source of disagreement here... I'm not saying that the $360 gives only the MDD. There are oodles of other robots and doodads with the packages included, but the bottom line is that you did in fact have to spend some amount of real-life monies to acquire it. If you spent money, it's not "free."

Perhaps it would help if I rephrased it as "The MDD comes as part of a $360 package."

Technically, yes. You would not have received the special camo + 30% C-Bill boost version without paying that $80 for the Overlord pack.

Would you have the Atlas if you didn't spend 80$?

Yes, yes it did cost you 80$.

Enjoy your Free* mech.

*Terms and conditions apply.

The Cent A(c) was free. Those Hero ones are not. They're just a bonus.

If the Atlas S or the Cent S or the MDD were developed for free with the developers, model makers, game designers giving free hours and the company not having to pay a dime for power for the computers or software on the computers, then yes, those mechs would be for free.

Since PGI had to pay for all of the above, the mechs are not free. They cost money to make and thus cost you money to purchase regardless of whatever marketing spin PGI puts on them or whatever value you think the word "free" has. In the end, it still costs money.

Keep in mind Clanner have to pay a 30% premium for mechs that have been nerfed substantially to bring them into balance with much cheaper IS mechs. That being the case, I think it is perfectly fine for people who spent $360 on Clan mechs to get 1 free one as a bonus.

Note: I am not a Clan Wave 1 Warhawk pack owner so DID NOT receive the free Mad Dog so I am not commenting on anything I have personally benefited on.

I was happy my la carte timberwolf counted for the Atlas-R. Love the thing, gotta save up for another one so I can master them.
I think you should be happy to get that king crab. those of us who cannot afford a top teir package have to wait until like January to get it.

Again, my point being, a Clanner gets Extra Clan AND IS mechs. Spheroid. IS mechs that Clanners got also. No chance for extra Clan mech. (Which I would NOT want.)
