The same way they dealt with other mechs with rear facing weapons.

Yeah: we should probably just make a post that says: "Until Harmony Gold is dissolved in acid, we will NEVER see these mechs:"

The Rifleman is now called the Jagermech, so it's not needed. Essentially the same mech.

You forgot the Stinger and Phoenix Hawk though and all LAMs.

Technically not the same mech, though it fills the same role at five(?) tons heavier and with similar visuals. I think the Firebrand can replicate a Rifleman.

But yeah, when hell freezes over is the basic answer to the OP's question.

The Mad Dog is the only clan mech I even look twice at, mostly because it is essentially a clan archer without ever saying it is, same way the Loki is basically a Warhammer.....




Give the Archer those reverse legs like the Mad Dog to make it different and take off the hands or make them smaller on the Archer and call it a day.

No it's not, they're different mechs, the Jagermech was in the game before the Unseen issue ever hit the courts, The Jagermech looks significantly different as well as being 5 tons lighter.. Also the name isn't what makes mechs unseen, the way they look is.

I think the point is that the Jagermech essentially does what the Rifleman does, with 5 extra tons to spare. In lore the Jager is even a purposed replacement for the Rifleman, so it makes sense to call it the 'same'.

The Archer doesn't have anything close. The Catapult is the closest, but has the missiles as arms rather than in the sides. The Archer essentially has what the Vulture/Mad Dog has, side torsos full of missiles, and laser arms independent of the LRM racks.

Kind of. Their is a nearly identically looking missileer mech from the 2750 book called the Bombardier. Close enough in my book.

Note, that it is originally armed with two LRM-20's, an SRM-4 in the arm, and an AMS in the CT (the downgraded version gets a machine gun, so their is the potential for an AC-2 in the CT of that variant).





However, if you want an Archer, there already is it's evil twin. The Catapult.
