..oh goody...
I dunno man....this challenge doesn't say "solo."
Last night I took my brawler D-DC out with my guys. We played 10 matches together, and lost two..I survived 7 of the 8 matches we won brawling my ASS off. Just because you're up close throwing punches doesn't mean you aren't aware of staying alive

Last week, that's what we got....
And we all know what's coming this weekend.....
I dare not to take a loud breath now just in case PGI hears me and brings out something more innovative next week....

ill go with my Hunchback G4 with AC20 to grab some kills
and ill try with Mad Dog lrg Laser and SSRM... much more chances for Kills
LRMs are to slow, and to get one Assits is easy without LRM.
You just need LRMs to get lets say more than 7 Assists like in the last Event, but this time not at all i think

Yes, this can, and will still be abused. Yes, there will still be LRMs, there will always still be LRMs on a tournament weekend, unless they ban them from said tourney. Yes there will be people playing too conservatively, poking and sneaking and trying get their points then hide the whole match.
However this is one that if you simply play to win, and especially in the group queue, you can and will get your points over time. While it can be abused, it also rewards playing intelligently, utilizing team tactics, having more awareness than a potato, etc.
I don't think there's any way to make a scoring formula that can't be abused in some way, but I think PGI made a clear effort here to give us one that at least tries to promote healthier matches.
Am I envisioning a rough grind over the weekend(mainly because I'd particularly like that Victor)? Yes, absolutely. Will I see many LRMs and ERLL, people hiding, people shutting down, etc? For sure.
Will I be getting free Premium Time, an achievable goal, and a neat, worthwhile prize at the end? Go on all thrusters.

all the "surviving" part is going to do is put more people in the back with LRMs and waiting for people like me to pick up the ungodly amount of slack left over from the "not fighting"
"To the Victors, Go the Spoils"
... yeah a spoiled appetite to actually help the team.
That is Exactly what will happen.
I'm a Brawler... Almost all my Mechs are Assalt and set up for close in fighting...
I seldom survive till the end but my team usually wins.
This event Favors to the Hide and LRM crowd.

Considering it takes the following:
1+ Kill, 1+ Assist, Survive and win the match through the set conditions
Being passive does not serve to assist victory. Those who go running away after killing one person and tapping another for the assist do not help their team win and in the end usually results in their own defeat.

That's exactly why we need to brace ourselves for facing twice as many LURM boats as we saw last weekend.....

Welcome to another weekend of lurm city, because people are afraid of dying in a brawl.
Kind of how I see it, too, and there won't be many Lights out there. So Assault LURM city. Eh: time to load up my Stalker, I 'spose - I don't have Victors, but I've always kind of wanted to try them out.

Playing to survive does not mean playing timidly though some will interpret it that way. I always play to survive. Live longer, do more damage, support your team, take smart risks, and avoid being a ******** zergling. This is going to be fun. =)

"Now this is a good weekend challenge. It keeps the farmers away (a kill AND and an assist required) It discourages suicide charges (survival required) and it forces the team to play well (win required)"
That is a good attitude... So, I will play my usual style (Front Line Brawler in an Assalt Mech) but if i find the rest of my team is in the back with LRMs just trying to Not Die... I will attack them myself !
