I've seen quite a few complaints on the PPC nerfs lately and while I "like" where they are right now I have some ideas on how to make them an even more unique weapons system and a counter to those evil sniper mechs. Ok, so a PPC interrupts ECM right so...

1. A hit from a PPC could disrupt the charge capability of a Gauss Rifle for the same amount of time that it would disrupt ECM but if it hits the same part of the mech that the Gauss is mounted in it disables it for the same time a UAC/5 jams for.

2. Sensor data is disrupted - the hit mech untargets the mech it was targeting "and" loses missile lock.

I like it. I wait for the day when they get granular on weapon choices. When I just won't have an AC20, but a Pontiac AC20. Not just a PPC, but a Lord's Light PPC.

Why not make PPC disable lasers too? Why only Gauss? HUH?!

I think lasers should add to mech heat. Lasers are hot. Much hotter than flame throwers.

I want my Tracer PPC that homes in on target like the mech assault one.

PPC hit = unlock target?
Interesting.

Lol, it would be neat and annoying if our hud when staticy like it did in MW4, when hit by a PPC.

Then for lasers, apply a small bit of heat to a mech when they get hit, maybe 5% total, regardless of amount of laser fired, and being hit by lasers kinda slows down heat loss of the target mech.

ACs and LRMs do the screen shake, but less the nwe have now....

Also, you should move slightly faster and jump higher as you expend ammo (or lose arms/torsos), as you weigh less.

Every time your mech gets shot in the head, there should be a chance the pilot gets knocked out.

Flamethrowers should change the velocity of your mech while jumping.

Your robot should only be able to fire PPCs or Gauss rifles. It's sooo much electricity.

I've always wondered why they left Heat damage out of the PPC's in MWO.

I think it would be REALLY cool if when you got shot in the head, your cockpit view slightly shifted for the rest of the match.

I actually really like this idea; suppressing LRM boats seems like a nice fit for the PPC. The other idea is a bit too much though, gauss rifles already have a lot of downsides so I don't think they need to also be hard countered by their primary competitor in the long range direct fire role.

They don't need a bunch of gimmicks, they just need to be a bit faster.

They just need to stop being so hot. They are throwing projectiles. Its really not that hot of an event. Now them colliding with something that is different. They seem to just keep making them hotter and hotter.

I mean if you take a Direwolf with 23 heatsinks you get a 101% heat with 1 ppc.
add 1 more ppc and it drops to 50% instantly. Thats ******* ridiculous!

PPCs major thing was electronics scrambling. They'd be much more useful if they had a "crit" chance to temporary bring down the targets HUD, for, like even one second.

Though, yeah, just bring up the impulse.

Or give me PPC Capacitors...
