Or it encourages you to go for primary objectives more.

I will agree with you on conquest as playing safe is ok as long as you control majority resources.

Stop trying to blame your bad games on a formula that has likely had zero to nil impact on your games.

Quit be an apologist for a badly designed challenge. Too many douches out there for it to be 1) enjoyable, and 2) effective.

Yeah, a single kill, and a single assist. Like that's not the basics of every match to begin with.

In any given match all it takes is for 1 person to get multiple killing blows and that leaves at least 1 person on the team with 0 kills, and that's assuming every enemy mech is killed--by players, they could also overheat or rarely go out of bounds. As I already said it's normally fine if you don't get any kills, but when your event progress depends on it then it absolutely affects how matches are played, and the results are pretty horrible.

Are you trying to say that when you join your goal is, "I'm not going to go for any kills?" Don't lie. Everybody is always trying to get a kill.

You are dense, it's not for lack of trying to get kills, but damaging a mech and getting a killing blow are 2 different things. When you have something like this that disrupts the flow of matches, where it is otherwise fine if you don't get a killing blow, people go out of their way to secure a killing blow regardless of how detrimental to the team it is; you do not see this to ANYWHERE NEAR the degree that you see it when there are tournaments with requirements like this.

I haven't noticed a single thing different in gameplay. It isn't like a leaderboard tournament where kills or assists are worth more than the other. Stop trying to blame your bad games on a formula that has likely had zero to nil impact on your games.

Right, a bunch of LRM hoarders not doing jack **** in multiple games because of the rules in the latest tournament hasn't affected my games, okay; that's just 1 example of player behavior being changed negatively in a match too.

Try paying attention to events before you say something.

If you got armor or are fast its not that hard. Which is why the medium que has been shrinking since it began.

Ugh... I can tell you how much "fun" I'm having with the Mist Lynx, but I think you already know how much.

I feel your pain. If I could just ******* convert the +100,000 XP on my prime timberwolf, I could ******* buy all the skills for it.

Up 8 to 3 and I have my kill and assist but my mech is beat to hell and a couple medium laser shots might finish me. Normal game I am hunting the last 3 enemy. Who cares if I die, we are winning. This challenge, I hide. It absolutely affects how I play, for the worse.

I'm going to love this formula.
I'm seeing less suicidal tendencies by terribads, and this is good. I saw them regroup too!!!!
Everyone can get a kill, lights have more problems due to low weaponry... but really.... I think that 1 kill 1 assist and SURVIVE it's great for a weekend challenge.

Thx pgi!

So, I switched to my dual gauss Ilya and it's so easy, it feels like cheating. 4-5 kills, 600-900 damage, and I don't have to try nearly as hard as with my lights. Now I know why no one plays lights.

Played 5 rounds, 4/5 counted for a point. Stupid easy.

That describes almost every game I have played where my team lost.
Just about every game my team won they did not do that and the enemy team did it instead.

Halloween was a step in the right direction, this tournament is a Giant Leap Backwards!

Well, all we can do is try to talk to our teams in advance of the bad behavior in a way they might actually be interested in listening to. (i.e. not insulting them) There's a disconnect and 60 second delay most matches these days, so time shouldn't be much of a factor.-

Either that or just whine after the fact. Guess which will have more of an effect. ^_^

That said, I do agree with the OP. It's like PGI is testing different scoring for events, but not looking at (maybe just not caring about) potential behavior changes in the player base.

I'd like to see a match score based tourney. Even XP gains or C-Bills would be a better standard to score with now. At least they are based on the complex reward system that (hypothetically anyway) balances rewards across weight classes while still promoting role warfare, aka normal team play. If that's the goal, and I don't know why it wouldn't be, then they seem to be doing it wrong.

What sucks about this tournament is all of the terribads who think hiding in the back with LRMs will see their team win.

Please be on the other team.

Created my account back in the day ( way over a year ago ) only been playing properly the last 7 weeks or so - having no problems with this challenge its not really that hard and i'm a noob. Picking up a point every other game or 1 every 3.
Don't see what everyone is crying about.

If you want to see what **** challenges are, play WoT, go grind for that premium tank for a month it's only 600 plus battles .

There are many reasons why this tourney is horrible, one is the kill requirement, the other definitely is the survive and win part.
