I really don't understand it when I see people saying "I'm so tired of Viridian Bog" or "I'm so tired of Mining Collective". In my opinion, they're by far the best maps we've had so far. If PGI continues this trend, I will be very happy.

The reason the last two maps are great, IMO, is because they don't have any huge dominating terrain features like Citadel (River City), Mount Doom (Terra Therma), Caldera (Caustic), Lonely Mountain (Alpine), HPG satelite (Manifold) or the big mountain in Crimson Strait. Huge terrain features like that tend to force players to go left or right, most of the time. And it's either a circle dance, chasing each other around the center, or a peek-a-boo battle around the corners. With Terra Therma and Manifold, you sometimes get a full trainwreck in the center as well. But the matches are fairly predictable, there are no surprises.

With Mining Collective and Viridian Bog, the matches are a lot less predictable, because there's no huge terraine feature dictating your movement. There's dozens of places where the fighting can happen. I never get tired of those maps, really.

Not to mention, Viridian Bog is the best looking map in the game so far.

Spoiler

If you have some nice screenshots in High / Very High graphic settings, I'd love to see them :)

I like Mining Collective, this new one though is pretty to look at but not so great to play.

The AWS Factory map is decent enough.

I haven't played Swampass enough to determine its Goodness™ but so far it seems to be a bit fusterclucky and I haven't won any matches on it yet. But hey, it looks purdy eh?

It could do with less fog, but it is gorgeous and a fun map to play

A few people have said that it's predictable and that the fighting tends to happen on the same locations. I haven't seen any of that. I think I've had about 15-20 matches on it so far, and they've all been rather unpredictable.

Strangely, Viridian Bog isn't showing up in my stats yet, so I can't check my WLR on that map. But I'm pretty sure I'm winning more than I'm losing. Will have to wait for the numbers to be certain.

Actually, I don't know if Viridian Bog is the best looking map in the game. It may still be River City. But I was just so starved for a green map.
