The funniest kill I had was me in my HBK-4G getting banged up so bad in the first 2 minutes that my rear armor was gone, CT internals deep deep red and my AC20 and ML were blasted off.

I dropped in Viridian Bog and it was conquest so I rushed Theta and popped my UAV there to prevent enemy capping (well they could cap but they'd die to LURMs) but the entire enemy team was there and shot me up so bad before I could retreat.

I powered down in a corner in bog and waited a really, really long time. It was okay because the team was winning. Then another HBK 4G found me and he had no arms and 1 AC20 shot left. He fired on my CT which had armor in the front and stood still. I powered up and we shot each other in the face with Medium Lasers and I beat him to the headshot then I powered back down and we won. He only had his head laser left and I had my head and arm laser. Funny thing was neither of us moved an inch and just spit green beams in each other's face.

When I wore down one mech on my own, targeted him by accident and ended up getting a flock of lights and mediums swarming him like flies on..... watermellon with about 10 silo's of lrms on their way.

I watched how the sharks tried to nab him before anyone else to get that sweet sweet point, totally oblivious to their surroundings most got killed as they were cored themselves. I ended up getting the kill. It was beautiful.

I'm so glad this tournament is done soon.

So glad.

Honestly? My 35th round was the most exciting...with the 34th round getting me my 20th point for the competition.

After brawling the first 34 I jumped in my to Dragonslayer for a few matches...and the first match netted me 8 kills and the Ace of Spades achievement. Got lucky with 3 one-shots on light mechs zooming around, out-face-tanked a Direwolf and back-shotted an Atlas.

Each of the other 4 kills went to one person on the team, who all survived. I was shocked, and excited :) It will probably never happen again lol, but it was awesome!

Edit: There was a a REALLY good match on Tourmaline where the 8 PUG's ignored our plea to take F7 and play defensively. Instead they ran into 'the open plain" and most of them died. We ran to support them (because what are we gonna do, leave them to die?) and in the end it was me in a Blackjack and a Timby vs. 4 fatties and a 3M Cicada.

Me and the Timby were in comms and we led them on a merry dance, trying to string them out and pick them off one at a time. We eventually lost, but took out another two of them on the way, and I ended the match with 3 kills, 2 assists and 1134 damage. We lost...but we gave it a damned good try!

First game into the challenge, and not knowing why I had a redeemable and ignoring it; sometime on Saturday, seeing it again, and then checking the forums and realizing I had a new Victor Champian (Sold the normal one I had, the engine in the new one because I had one already) and realized, I did nothing different than I normally would have and I got prizes; thanks, PGI.

That might be the mission on Crimson Straight in my 4 x LRM-5 (b)Adder. We lost, but I got 2 kills chasing enemy mediums around and shooting them in the back while they tried to flank our assaults. Dunno if they just didn't realize I was there or maybe figured a (b)Adder wasn't a threat?

Or maybe the one in the same (b)Adder where I killed 2 Dire Wolves. I got "Kill Most Damage" or whatever it's called for both, too. That mission was on Viridian Bog and we had good ECM cover, so I don't think either Dire Wolf could see me.

Got 4 of my 20 points in that little Mech.

Most memorable was one where I DIDNT get a point.

Canyon/assault. We were up by 2 mechs, but we were damaged. They retreated. I was REALLY crit and down to cERML's so I could not take out any turrets.. But we HAD to beat them by killing them all, could not wait them out.

We went in, I ended up dying, but we won anyway. Other folks got their point. For a second I was ticked, but then I stepped abck and realized how freakin TENSE and exciting it was!

First two points were on Tourmaline Valley, Spider Anansi, killing a Dire Wolf head on. Both times.

Funnest - playing on the capture resource points type of battle, enemy is at 735, we are nowhere close. Sole surviving enemy mech, a timerwolf, rolls up on my legged Anasi, and I machinegun his face off. Win and kill.

Least enjoyable game, getting 11 assists, survival, and an onscene amount of damage with my Firestarter. No kill, but plenty of most damage done on heavies and assaults... Normally, I'd be leaning back in my chair like Ice Cube in his lowrider. I had the foresight to take the .38 SPCL from my computer table and put it in the closet before the challenge began. Otherwise, I might be needing a new monitor.

Absolute worst part of challenge - trying to get through the work day today with vastly insufficicent sleep. And I will probably have to go to confession for the sheer number of curses I hurled whilst playing. I think the dog is scared of me.

Didn't manage to get a point on this but still funny.

Assault mode on Terra Therma. My team was down to 3 vs 7. The 3 of us decided we're not going to win on kills and went for enemy base. Got it down to 50% before enemy mechs started appearing. All of them rushed us. I was in a Dragonslayer and was practically surrounded. In a last ditch retaliation before I die, I jump and aim for enemy stragglers 500m away. It lands and takes out an enemy Dragon. I die and the game ends.

Turns out he already had 1 kill and 10 assists. He would have gotten the point if he had just stayed away from the fight.

Most exciting match would have to be Assault on Tourmaline.

The game was down to 2 v 3. The enemy had a Dual Gauss Jager, DWF and TBR left. I was in my Dragonslayer again and had a Thunderwub with me. The Jager was covering the battlefield and the DWF and TBR was retreating.

I thought they were definitely retreating to base and wait out the match for the win. I made the call and asked the Thunderwub to chase with me. BUT instead of making a beeline for their base, we flanked to the sides to avoid the Gauss Jager.

As we came round the corner, we came up to the back of the DWF and TBR, waiting in ambush for us to chase them. Somehow, without comms, I went for the DWF and the Thunderwub went for the TBR. Both of us takes them out at the same time in a simultaneous volley of fire.

Not believing our luck, we high tailed it out of there as fast as we could back to base and won the match by waiting it out.

One enemy Light left, tons of damage and assists, in a real brutal fight by both sides, but no Kill. Watching one of our Lights chasing I calculated the enemies path of avoidance, and sure enough, he came right by my Tree. I stepped out, BOOM. Game over and a Point, where a point, just moments ago, seemed not very likely.

A small fist pump ensued. :)

P.S. Some really great and crazy Matches. Had a 6v6 draw as the timer ran out. We fought the whole 15 minutes too. Was really weird. ;)

had a round where we ended up with 5 people alive, with 4 of those qualified. the remaining guy was a de-armed gauss jager.

in one of the best examples of stars aligning i've seen in a solo drop, the other 4 decided to strip the last enemy of a leg, and all the armour of the other leg, and we got the jager his kill via ram damage.

Score was 10-7 in favor of the enemy and my teammates were dropping without doing anything. I killed all 5 enemy mechs to win the game. Gotta carry hard to get dem points :P.

Most exciting was on Manifold.

I was in the 5ss and had dmged quite a few mechs but never got a kill. I landed like 2 alphas on a nova which then had a red ct. We were winning and there were about 4 of them left. We still had 8 + mechs.

The nova is in center top platform, drops down - out of sight - and begins to, apparently, run beneath the center. Before that I scrambled around 5 or so corners and barely missed him.

So he drops and Im like 30 meters behind, watching him drop. He basically drops right in front of 2 of our direwolfs and a few other mechs. I see all of them shoot where the nova dropped but didnt watch the nova die. I see many red names get killed. There was basically no way he could have survived with that red core, dropping right in front of so much firepower.

And I jump after him regretting that move right away as I was bound to get ff. It seemed stupid cause I was 99% positive he was dead and had already turned half towards the friendly mechs in the air cause there was no way he would live.

I land, glimpse him underneath, 5 meters away from the corner where he would be out of vision. I had no time to aim and shot blindly in that direction. In the last possible nano second he faces me and like one or two pulse lasers hit his ct for like 0,2 seconds. And he dies.

That was the most fun point in the challenge and im still completly unbelieving concerning how he managed to survive down there. There were no other enemy mechs and 5 ppcs, lasers, acs and what not all shot at him.

Had a game on HPG. Both teams did the usual move to the middle, some minor skirmishing around the base of the dish, a couple lights went below to dogfight. Nothing particularly crazy, and it looked like it would be another boring pokefest.

All of a sudden the other team comes roaring over the top of the dish and rolls down into our team. Rather than running away and getting destroyed, my team actually committed to the fight and the best brawl of my MWO playtime commenced. Assaults were violating each other at distances that would have been NSFW. I watched an LRM Summoner get picked apart by lights before a Dakkawolf showed up to ruin their day too.

As the fight wound down most of the heavy hitters were stripped or dead and all that was left were a Hunchback, a Nova, my stock Mad Cat Prime, and a Cicada. On their side was a Summoner, another Hunchback, half an Atlas, and a Firestarter. I don't know how the rest of the fight went since I was dueling the Atlas and the Hunchback solo, but I assume it went well since we ended up winning.

Basically the Hunchback had his AC20 and medium lasers, the Atlas had lost his RT but still had SRMs and mediums. All three of us were in orange-red armor and a lucky arty had put my LT in structure. I used the metal towers around the bottom level of HPG to break line of sight as much as possible since AC20s like to put holes in things, hitting and running as best I could. I focused my efforts on the Atlas, whittling him down until I was able to leg him and let my machine guns eat away at his exposed backside.

With the Atlas out of the way the Hunchback made a triumphant return, lasering off my left torso and destroying the remainder of my LRM ammo. Then he and I began the Dance of Death, firing into each other in a tight circle. I managed to slag off the last of his RT armor with my right arm's lasers and laid into him MW2 style with the machine guns again. One particularly violent ammo explosion later, I emerged victorious.

It wasn't until the match end fanfare began playing that I noticed the other members of my team had been watching the fight, respectfully withholding their fire.

Didn't get the point but I did get into a massive a massive brawl in the basement of HPG uplink where I earned the Philanthropist achievement while piloting my stock AS7-S. I would have gotten the Bad Company achievement along with it if I didn't already have it as I was at 16% health when the fight ended.

In Degoba with my 3M. Had plenty of assists but no kills. Wasn't a complete roflstomp but there were probably 6 of us left. Last one left was a SCR. Finally got a sensor reading and I was the closest. It's on now! I'm the first one there. He's semi-beat but still has armor everywhere, same with me. And he turns out to be a wub-crow. Oh s***. Me and him proceed to play ring around the plateau as he tries to finish me off. I can see my team about to round the corner so I continue with another orbit and sure enough he rounds the corner to come face to face with 4 mech. I turned around just in time and drilled him with 2 ERLL to finish him, giving me my one kill and the point.

Well, it was less a match, but a event during a match.

I was, of course, in the WubShee, on Caustic. I spotted a Cataphract on the other side of the caldera, so I sent some Wub his way, hitting his leg, then decided to throw an arty at him.\

Boom, Boom, Boom, component destruction.

Component destruction, Kill.

The RNG gods were not in his favour. At least two shells struck near his leg, which set off an ammo explosion, which killed him.

This was all within 3 minutes of the beginning of the match, so I felt a little bad.

My most memorable game I didn't score a point on. It was on Forest Colony snow, I was in my Stormcrow. I was watching the waterline by where the river meets the shore, and my team was at the arches.

I saw a direwolf w/ some LRMs, PPCs, and med lasers peek at me from the shoreline and his team was at the canyon leading up to the village. They couldn't get a lock on me unless I peeked as well, but I could dodge the missles.

When he pulled back I noticed the guys inland had turned away from me so I made my move. I ran across open ground past where Theta is, along the shoreline, and right up to the side of the rock where the direwolf was.

I came around the corner as he was turning back towards me. I alpha'd and twisted. He shot PPCs. I alpha'd and twisted again. He shot PPCs again. I had him cored at this point, I had all my armor still. I'm guessing half of his PPC weren't registering. I fired my small pulse lasers one last time into his CT. POP goes the direwolf. He disconnected right away.

I then ran further down the shoreline into the back of C2, and got picked off while trying to get another kill on a red CT timberwolf. If I was concerned with scoring a point, I could have moved towards the large rock in the water rather than hook around into their base area.
