I think the question is how much would you pay to keep certain mechs OFF the battlefield?

The Thug would be awesome. I remember running some of these back in the day, and I never once regretted buying them.

I love the Hollander, as well. But then again a walking Gauss Rifle is hard not to like...

Personally, I've always like the Thunderbolt (though I know it's Unseen and therefore practically out of the question), and the Orion.

Given the awesome redesigns done on a lot of the old classics, I'd love to see what MWO could do to both the Thunderbolt and the Orion.

After looking through TRO 3025. I'd say Griffin. The PPC/LRM combo plus the speed and jump capability seems like nice addition to the 'mech already in the game.

I also like the Valkyrie and Enforcer (maybe I should switch faction..?)

The Orion is nice too. My first BT miniature BTW.

Madcat MK2 would be my, please dont add this mech pick. I hated it visually and conceptually in mech4.

It's ages away so we won't see it thankfully.

That said, I agree. MW4 had some great artists that made some of my favorite designs in the game - the Uziel and Argus topping that list. I even liked the silly mini-me Thor that was the Hellspawn.

But the MK2 was an awful idea across the board. At least it doesn't look like the MK3's first release did:

Mechs that really do need to be included at some point, that also happen to be personal favorites of mine:

Wolverine
Quickdraw
Crusader
Orion (if there's only ONE more heavy mech that absolutely NEEDS to be included, it's this one)
Marauder
Zeus

I would have included the Awesome and Stalker as well, but now there's no need ;)

---

Mechs that I would personally love to see and use, though I'd be very surprised if they appeared, either because of their odd-duck nature or their lore rarity:

Urbanmech (this one wouldn't actually be much of a surprise...)
Alfar (not only is this unlikely to appear, there's actually no good reason that it should - my love is not enough, weep)
Hoplite
Gladiator
(like an Alfar, but slightly less cool and somewhat possible)
Champion (loved this one for both its bizarre looks and its underdog nature ever since its rather odd inclusion in MW3)
Exterminator (see Alfar...)
Charger (FISTS OF DOOM)
Imp

---

More Mechs that really need to be included, though I don't care too much for them myself:

Hermes and/or Hermes II
Panther
Clint
Crab
Guillotine (good Marik counter to Liao's Cataphract)
Grasshopper
Devastator (if only to more easily know where all the MW4 players will end up :P )
King Crab

Also in this last group are all the other unseens I haven't mentioned already, but that goes without saying...

Just really agreeing on the Orion.

It's not just that I'm a fan of the 'mech - I'll freely admit it's not the best 'mech in the game (though is quite serviceable), but rather that it's one of the most iconic 'mechs (hell, Kerensky drove it back in the SLDF well before the Atlas existed) and it's been totally ignored since MW3. It's really the most iconic 75 tonner.

To top it off, the FWL has a serious fetish for the Orion. Most of their new designs to come out in the next 10 years echo the Orion, or are outright sequels to it (such as the Albatross and Perseus.) With a game that's heavy on iconic faction 'mechs, it's just odd that the Orion hasn't shown up earlier really.

I'd honest to God taken it over the Centurion, I know that much; that poor thing looks outclassed in every way by the Hunchback and the 10 tons heavier Dragon. I don't in any way hate the Centurion but it seems totally redundant in the 50 ton bracket given we still don't have an announced 75 (or 45/55 for that matter).

Exactly, Victor. The Orion is far from my favorite Mech. Although I do think it's pretty cool, the reason I say it NEEDS to be included is because of its status. Even if I disliked it I would still say its inclusion is nigh mandatory.

Agreed on the Centurion issue, as well... possibly the coolest looking of all the concept art posted so far, yet I can't see much reason to choose it over either a Hunchie or a Dragon...

Eh it didn't seem that bad in person, and was a medium. Though originally I believe it was slated to be the DA Madcat, they threw the MkIII onto it because the Battletech folks hated it...then they never played the game anyway so that was pointless to rename honestly. Then you had the Madcat clone in the second set, the Madcat II (which wasn't a MK II...which while the logo never showed up in game oddly).

Not really. It's similar to the Hunchback but the Centurion's ballistic mount(s) are in the arm which might make a big difference from the Hunchback's torso mount. Matter of preference mostly though I think. It should also be cheaper to repair than a Dragon in theory, partly due to not having that honking nose of a torso. I agree it's similar on paper, though who knows if that will be the end-all.

Personally I would like to see hatchets in the game, would be a first and something that's been in Battletech for many years now. Although I could maybe go for a Thug. Victor or Zeus seem on th tip of my brain too, not sure why, just liked them.
