The flamer. I've said this I don't know how many times.

It's still a 1-ton weapon. It should be exactly analogous to the medium laser.

Same damage. Half the range. Causes heat damage balanced with having half the range.

It's so simple it burns.

I'd personally like the flamer to area damage to every part of the mech that the flame touches. Flame a poor spider? Yeah that mech would be taking damage over the entire mech, not just where your cursor is. Make it deal the most damage under the cursor, and less damage the further it is from the center of the flame.

I'd like the flamer to do one thing and one thing only, cook off ammo. If your enemy has no armor in a section containing ammo the flamer would blow it up after x amount of time of heating it up. It would be devastating against certain targets.

They need to add heat penalties in the form of targeting and movement. Increasing range to maybe 100m or even 120m and damage to 1 DPS would be a nice bonus too.

Aside from that, all Firestarters should have some form of Flamer quirks.
