What was Joanna's bloodname? I know she never earned one but what bloodname would she have had?

She never did earn one though she helped Diana Pryde earn her father's bloodname.

Per the wiki, she was hinted at serving as a non-mechwarrior combatant after being a Falcon trainer and not heard from again.

Her Blood House is never mentioned in the novels.

She was pretty nearly the generic for Skilled Clan Warrior Without Bloodname though.

From all of the reading and her closeness with the Pryde bloodname I would have thought she was of that line.

I could very easily see them not being willing to admit having her though.

IE: I could see there being a kind of stigma toward those who have failed.
Actually I know there was - but one specialized toward the Bloodnames

That someone tried and failed to win a bloodname does not carry a particular stigma though the person who sponsored you might not do so again. Failing to do so several times, though, would definitely carry a stigma. Failure in the clans when dealing with the best is one thing, multiple failures is another matter entirely.

Personally I would pay real money to watch a bar fight between Joanna and Natasha Kerensky.

As to a bloodname, I don't think Joanna needs one.

She's Battletech's ******* or Cher. She don't need no surname.

I own it. I've read it (although not in several years now) but the showdown always left me a bit cold.

It would have been better as a hand to hand no holds barred bar fight.

No.... I think it would have been rather one sided, kind of like an Elemental fighting an Aerospace pilot in hand to hand, on a high G planet....

Natasha was 84 at the time I think...
