I'm still leveling my Hellbringer because 2.5x XP is too hard to resist, but with 4xERLL. I'm trying to treat it like a big weak medium at the moment.

That's the trick I used to elite the prime with a 3.66 kdr: stay away and invisible :)
My fav build is 3 c-LPL with range module n°5. Pure sniper.

A completely random part of the left torso is considered center torso...

I honestly think that someone at PGI is just trolling us.

Actually considering the HB was released early as a peace-maker for the weekend XP not activating... I'm actually not surprised.

I'm guessing it was essentially "done" but did not have a final QA vetting process done to it for final release...

I think that's the consensus. I really appreciate that PGI released it early, ready or not. The XP weekend helped a lot even if the mech explodes in most matches.

Funny fact, the Hellbringer is still one of the most effective mechs with 7xML+30DHS or 4xML, 2xLL+24DHS. Just play it as a huge and slow medium, stay with the group and enjoy how it opens enemy mechs with a single alpha in the mid-late game.

Someone has to do the work... might as well be us IS types, seeing how we always win in the end. ;)

I was able to rip apart 2 Lokis today with my LRM build on my Stalker 3H

Normally my twin LRM20 launchers spread out the damage alot, but it is really noticable on the loki that the missiles do heck-alot of damage towards the CT

Thank you for taking the time to test it, allowing us to prove everyone we were not exaggerating this problem.

I have no anger towards PGI, as long as it is fixed before the next week-end, the double XP currently partially compensate for it.

Center torso is always the first to go on this mech no matter how much you torso twist to try and spread the damage. It's as bad as the lynx and the arms getting blown off too quickly as well. Seems like most new mechs that come out have 1 very soft week spot that just rips the mech apart. Now if only the clan mechs could have something like...I don't know a spider...that can have a very small hit box and dance between mechs we would be on to something.

Basically, shoot in any direction on the map, and there's a 99% chance you'll hit a Hellbringer's CT.

Best post in the thread. You win the internet. Also great job OP now I know where to shoot them, but you are right they do need fixing.

So my Misery opens fire with his AC20 on the ARM of a loki on the side, and the CT dies? WHAT?

Now THAT'S a solution.

/salute

also: It's probably an artefact of the solo queue, and the combination of "most solo queue players don't read the forums" and "those who do may well be less able to take advantage of the hitbox knowledge", but I've been having some cracking matches in my HBRs this weekend.

They could end up being VERY powerful when they're no longer borked.

While i'll agree those CT spots on the arms need fixing as does the rear the TRUE CT on this mech is sized fine. It is comical to hear clanners whining about large CTs on mechs though. The IS deals with this all the time :)

First mech ever that you can safely run Zero Rear Armor on.

First mech ever that you actually need to until they redo this...

God let them redo this.

So put all your armor on the front instead of the rear?

yeah i run 1 rear CT armor and the rest front, but that still leaves you with effectively 83 armor. ok we can probably round it up to like 100-125 when you factor in the fact that someone could possibly miss and somehow hit a leg or something.

basically, you have the armor of a light with the size and speed of a heavy. if no one shoots you (ecm can help with that) you can do fine. if anyone shoots you (and after the first day once this caught on everyone does because your a free kill) your dead.

all in all however, im stil playing mine because ive elited them out in about 10 games each. pretty tough to complain when you get 4k xp on a loss.
