Map Rotation Still Needs Work

I just played 6 games in a row on that abominable space map. Please fix this very fixable thing.

Give us the option to select what map we want to play :) If it increases time for us to load a map than thats our problem.

uh huh

what about the people who would min.max their builds and only play on the 1-2 maps optimized for their exclusive builds?

We've already had these discussions monkey, it's been explained why that would be a bad solution. It's been explained why it wouldn't work. It's been explained why it would throw game balance out. it's been explained why repeatedly.

Min/max users would exploit it and only drop on the one or two maps that were exclusively beneficial for their builds. It cuts down on mech and build diversity. You've been in those threads. You know that idea won't work. You know that idea isn't going to be implemented so why would you continue to suggest it?

Its not even about min max users. The same thing would happen that happens in most games. 90% of the community would only play 2-3 maps. That's hideously annoying.

Still doesn't stop people at least not me from loading up tons of heat or all lrms and hoping for a map :P hehe

Ya we're getting old i think we talked about this a few times :)

I know, I'm just pointing out more reasons and showing why it would happen here. Monkey in particular has been involved in more than one thread about this very subject. He just continues to suggest it over and over again regardless of how it's been show it won't work and various other ways it would wreak havoc with the MM system.

Only for a few weeks then thay would get bored of it. I can't stand playing the same map over and over.

Min Maxing at it's finest. Keeping a map rotation, and yes I have dropped on a map 4 times in a row, keeps people from choosing only maps that they are beneficial to those builds.

Then again, days of raining LRMs down on unsuspecting people on caustic, Alpine and a few other maps does sound tempting.

I hoping CW is going to fix my problems with the map rotation but we will see.

You also know CW doesn't use the same maps and doesn't have a rotation. Quit trolling dude.

I want to know how every other game of the same type as this doesn't have this problem with a similar number of players. If PGI can't make a code fix then let me have longer wait times just that I don't play the same map half a dozen times. I don't need to deselect maps in order not to play the exact same one, just make it so that the system recognizes that I have played one and that it should not have me play the same one within a fixed time period (barring a wait time in excess x minutes).

I have all of the settings for matchmaking wide open and I played three different classes of mech over these games. I did everything I could think of including wait several minutes between matches. I did everything I could in game and I am reporting to developers via the official forums a problem that I have with what they made. If you have another idea on how to solve what I see as a problem I am open to suggestions.

Do you know how a random number generator works? We have 12 maps (paired variants like River City Day/Night count as one) ... it's not incredibly unlikely to get the same map four times out of five. Truly random sequences don't always satisfy the human desire for sufficient variety.

Yes, we need a map voting system, but it needs to be simple: allow us to only vote one map up and one map down. Try it for a few days and see if it works. The system we tried for game modes didn't work, so we need to start experimenting.

I do, and I don't need random numbers. I need not the same number several times.

I think a map voting system is a great idea that would neatly solve this problem.
