Hi guys, I have a problem that I hope maybe I could get some help with…

My ultra-bright 50k lumen aftermarket flood light bulb and heatsink upgrade arrived for my Hellbringer today, and I was up there about to swap it in, and just realized I got nowhere to put it? I was one of the lucky few who received their Hellbringer early, but now it seems to be missing the entire light housing/ballast. I don’t even have a glass cover, it’s just a 1” thick hardened steel panel… I removed the panel and found behind it the socket and wiring harness for where the light assembly and heat sink and venting should go, but where is it?

I looked through my invoice and picked through the order specifications page, but I can’t see anything saying about it being sold separately or not included, and it’s not in the crate as a separate item. Shipping waybill only says 1 of 1pkg and packing slip doesn’t indicate any missing or backordered items… so I’m wondering if they just maybe missed it during manufacturing?

I was kind of hoping to just simply replace the stock bulb with this one, but it’s becoming a real big headache and I need to figure out why I didn’t receive a floodlight and only got an empty socket…

Before I go to customer support, I’m just wondering if anyone else is having this issue and maybe let me know what you did to get a light?
I did look briefly, but I couldn’t find any announcement about it. Even check to see if there was different models shipping for different countries, but that didn’t help either.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance,
MoonUnitBeta

Dude.

There's nothing cooler than a take-down light. Used to have an old cop car back in college....it was a blast. Finding bulbs for it is a pain, but it's fun as all hell.

Which reduces the target modifier of playing in darkness. Same as the Warhammer.

I would enjoy lights in general. The night vision is turrible.

Here's my suggestion: send a HPG to customer service with the model and (very importantly!) the serial number of your Mech. It's possible that your Mech came from a batch which underwent a design change that wasn't documented in the Operations Manual or the marketing brochures. This happens...

Alternatively, you might have received a Refurbished Beta Unit that omitted the Floor lamp, or even a refurb from a customer that returned a custom-buildup for one reason or another. Anyways, they *should* be able to bring up the original design specs based on the serial number. Good luck, buddy.

Thanks for the great response! I'm a little sad that I may have received a refurbished unit while I paid for new, but I guess I'll get that sorted out with support. I Forgot all about the serial numbers, so I knew it was a good idea to ask first! Thanks again for the tips :)

Upon discovering that there was no light provided with my my Hellbringer, I asked my mechanic if he could effect a replacement. He said he'd see what he could do.

Roughly three cycles later he handed my Hellbringer back. Due to a design defect in the prototype all early release models instead have a mounting for a Sawtooth 533 Methane Exhaust System instead of the floodlamp listed in the design specifications. Sawtooth unfortunately went out of business after allegations of the CEO having "inappropriate relations" with Katrina Steiner resulted in the majority of their factories being demolished in "border conflicts".

A refit of the hardpoint would apparently void the warranty on the mech so for the time being I've crammed some confetti launchers in there.

Back in the MWLL days, while me and my circle of friends only really played privately, our favorite thing to do was attempt to blind each other with the Warhammer's floodlight. Mostly, it gave shouts of "You ****" before getting blown to hell, but it was still hilarious when all was said and done.

Actually......

A 1 ton, 1 slot "spotlight" would be nice period. On maps where everyone tends to use night vision, it could CERTAINLY be used to blind the enemy. Or it could make them look the wrong way.

There's a lot of potential to the idea.

I believe I can shed light on your problem. I think you might have been tricked. *cough* easily done when one is a decadent Inner Sphere barbarian *cough*.

The Hellbringer chassis is not available to be purchased in your puny "Capellan Confederation". You may have been told this 'mech is factory fresh, but it appears you have been swindled. You have purchased a second hand mech, quiaff? I imagine whoever sold you this Hellbringer had their astechs remove the fragile floodlight after combat damage so as to uh, what is the expression, "not give the game away"?

:( I just liked the colour green. I haven't been to a single Liao meeting... :( I deserve a fully fitted mech just like any other! I paid good money!
*rigs power to the bulb and snuggles beside it for warmth* Somebody love me...
