is it wrong, or intentionally the present tense?

I'm just going to sit here open mouthed, then try to apply SCIENCE to work out just how much force will be required to strike myself in the head with a blunt object (or strike a blunt object with my head) and place myself in a coma until the 16th.
Right now, I've collected a coma care package consisting of 8 beers, an asprin to thin my blood, a note to my wife (she'll understand), instructions to my kids not to draw wangs on my face with sharpies, a pillow, some soothing jazz music, and an aluminum baseball bat... though charging headfirst into a wall sounds more awesome. Might be difficult to control the impact.
I suggest the fulcrum method of incapacitation...... heavy object, swinging on a rope secured to the ceiling by an eye hook. When properly rigged, you can even be in repose in your comfy chair before knocking yourself out.
