wow if that chart is accurate for the game, lasers are going to be really hard to use.. with the range limitations, and shot durations

Lasers are supposed to be 1 shot 1 hit not staying on target and burning it. Thats what Pulse Lasers do

It's being done to balance the game. It takes away being able to alpha strike with lasers. Plus it still looks nice.

In a competitive real-time game lasers need more limitations, the damage potential of a AC or LRM is dramatically limited by the length of match. People will likely spend all their ammunition within the first 5-8 min and spend the rest of the game trying to ram each other, the mech with the only working small laser will win the day.

Is that all that you can see?

It's all I noticed because it was the only thing that could be 'wrong'. I'm sitting here looking at my BTech Master Rules and it clearly states the range for both IS SLas and IS SPLas as 1/2/3; I.E. 90 m range.

Watch some of the vids. Lasers don't really last all that long. Maybe 1.5 seconds with a lengthy recharge time, and devs have stated in other places that lasers will deal their damage over the length of the beam, giving a quick witted target a chance to twist more sections of armor under the beam to spread damage.
