I am curious because I would love to be able to put the camos on my other clan wave 1 mechs besides the wave 2 mechs. If I can do that then I would definitely get one of each, but if not then I would just get only jade falcon packs. If I can only put the camos on the wave 2 mechs that is a let down for me because I'm sure my Timber Wolf would look great in the new jade falcon camo.

Only the Prime variants of Wave 2 for mechs you preordered, then they will patch the rest of the clans to be compatible with it.

You'll be able to change the camos on the Prime(I) mechs? That's awesome. I thought it was standard variants only.

Any word on if we'll be able to change camos to the House ones on Phoenix (P) mechs?

That was a reward system. not a faction package. totally different reward systems.

Are the colors unlocked at least? I want my global color palate to be expanded with all these delicious new colors!

You can use any color, it is basically just a paint. The pattern is the only thing that is restricted.

If you want faction camo for wave 1 mechs like Timberwolf or Nova, including their Invasion variants, you'll have to unlock it for mc down the road.

The unlocks from faction packs only unlock it for the Wave 2 preordered mechs, Including the Invasion variants, in a couple of patches when they finish adjusting the camo for those models.

Because of the wording on the faction pack selection screen:
  • camo patterns and colors are unlocks, once for your account per faction pack
  • the only reason to take the same faction pack more than once is for multiples of faction specific cockpit items
I believe taking a single Ghost Bear faction pack will give you the ghost bear pattern for all 4 mechs in the Man-o-War pack, + the Mad Dog if you qualified for the "ultimate clan reward."

So if you take 1 of each faction pack, all your Wave 2 mechs will have 4 different patterns to choose from (plus polygon camo for non (I) Invasion variants if you got the month 1 reward)

Why are the (I) Invasion variants being treated differently than hero mechs that can't change patterns? A couple reasons perhaps.
  • They are very widespread, every clan preorder customer has an (I) Invasion variant.
  • They are not Hero mechs, they are actually classified as Champion mechs. They have the same designations as the non (I) variants, with the same hard point and omnipod options.
  • The (I) variant camo pattern is a generic pattern common to 13 mechs.
  • People bought clan wave 2 packs for the faction content, to represent a clan faction in CW.
  • Lots of people were asking for it, it likely will generate more sales.

Inner Sphere players, don't despair, it might be too late for the Phoenix variants, but the Resistance variants are likely to get the Faction camos as well.

Do we have any official verification that we will be finally able to individualize our Prime(I) mechs by selecting camo patterns?

I mean it would be AWESOME to get camo pattern support on the Founder, Hero, Phoenix, Invasion, Loyalty and Resistance mechs! (FHPILR-Mechs)

Is there any reason for me not to choose 1 of each of the Clan Faction Content packages aside from getting more than one of the cockpit items by choosing the same one more than once?

Yes, from Russ in the December roadmap update, but its only the Faction camos on (i) mechs, and it might be after the 16th:
http://mwomercs.com/...ember-road-map/

Quote

Special Note: Wave 2 faction skins will be place able on your special "Invasion" version of your Wave 2 mechs, however it will likely trail the Dec 16th patch by 1 or 2 patch cycles. On Dec 16th those faction skins will work with the 4 Wave 2 mechs as well as the Mad Dog. Further into the future the faction skins will be retrofitted to work with all Wave 1 mechs.

Guys, read that message again.

It clearly states that the non-invasion variants will get the patterns/skins first, and on the 16th.

the prime invasion models will receive the patterns as well, but a few patches later. At an even later time, Wave 1 mechs will get a pass do they too can equip it.

Sounds good to me.
