Would be great if you could actually use the testing grounds to test. If I want to test against a moving target, against Clans or hit box test I have to have 2 players with premium time in a private lobby. Allow us to form a small group of 2-3 players for testing grounds if we want to. Anymore than that and it may get abused.

Testing grounds is local on your machine only. There will never be a testing grounds with more than you in it.

Which is why we should have a testing ground option like a private lobby that does not require premium time.

If you do that, then you take up an entire server for dropping less than 24 'Mechs.
That was the entire reason for requiring Premium Time -- a "fee" for wasting precious server resources with a reduced drop.

The testing grounds is not local. On Saturdays the testing grounds is not available. Why would it not be available? Because it is not local.
That being said, They could atleast put in a mlas turret, or a uav or something like that. It wouldn't be that hard to have that local on our computer.

Easy solution here, let us use our own hypnotic space-bending CPU power and bandwidth to host multiplayer testing grounds.
The SOLE reason I have not invited all my friends to MWO is because there is no corner of the game universe where I can drive big stompy mechs alone with my F2P friends, to show them how the game works. (FYI, some of them are LOADED, and would probably buy a king crab tomorrow).
PGI's servers don't have to be used for every single thing. Especially game modes like the testing grounds, where C-bills and XP cannot be earned, and stats are not tracked.

Do it like MW4, didn't this allow your local machine to act like a server? I can't remember exactly.

Their licensing agreements probably don't allow them to give us enough game code to host servers ourselves.
