So I just got my hands on a proper g-sync monitor (Asus rog swift). G-sync works fine until I alt+tab to windows. When I return to game my max fps is capped to 60 (like v-sync) and g-sync is still functional. Only sollution I have found so far is to change game to full window -mode this deactivates g-sync and fps lock is gone. Then I have to change back to fullscreen -mode and G-sync is enabled automatically, this procedure is frustating due continous alt tabbing since queue times are long currently.. Has anyone else noticed this problem or is there other workarounds for it? Possible config changes?

SYSTEM:
gtx 760, 3570k @4,4ghz, win 7 -64bit, nvidia 344.75 drivers
Thanks for helping

Mine doesn't do that, and I Alt-Tab all the time.

Win 8.1 Pro x64, Zotac GTX 980 AMP! Omega (344.75 drivers) with Acer XB270H Abprz 144Hz G-Sync monitor. All settings in-game are at highest level.

In-game settings say Full Screen, but GeForce Experience says it's in Windowed Borderless mode. Don't know if that makes any difference.

Is the game set to Full Screen, Full Window (borderless) or Windowed mode (border)?

When you are having the issue, when is it actually occurring? During mech lab/etc or during the combat drop?

g-sync monitor breaks alt-tab out of game

As you can see, you are not alone. PGI may need add some additional code.

FYI - You have to go to nvidia control panel -> manage 3D-settings -> scroll down to vertical sync and choose G-Sync.

It probably does make a difference

Can't help you with g-sync
BUT
If I run in fullscreen and alt tab out, then sometimes the map in my mech disappears, or just the arrows and other small glitches (doesn't matter which directx version I use)

If I leave it in windowed no problems no matter how much I tab in n out
Give that a try
Put it in borderless window

If not
Hmm
The omega drivers might make a difference too

Full screen is enabled in game settings. And yes, g-sync is enabled in driver setings.

I tried Battlefield 4 and Crysis 3 and they both work fine problem doesnt occur, they let me alt tab and have 144hz enabled once I come back.

I found out that the monitor changes it's refres rate to 60 everytime I go to windows. Luckily this monitor has button for changing refreshrate on the go 60->120->144. So my current workaround is changing my refreshrate back to 144 once I return to MWO after alt tabbing.
Refreshrate is set to 144hz in windows and nvidia drivers tho.

Thanks for all the support so far :)

Look in your GeForce Experience and see if it says MW:O is in Windowed Borderless mode. Mine says it is, yet it works perfectly in G-Sync mode when Alt-Tabbing. And it's wrong, by the way -- I have my in-game setting set to Full Screen.

Also, are you using the ASUS driver for your monitor? I'm just using the default Windows driver for my monitor (tried the Acer one, but it wouldn't install).

Geforce experience says windowed borderless like yours and ingame is set to full screen. I was using asus drivers but i removed them to check if it helps, it didn't. I also did fresh installation for nvidia drivers, no luck.

Maybe it has something to do with windows 7 or faulty monitor I don't know. I asked asus about this and hope they can come up woth something.

One possible solution would be crank the game details up so I never go past 60fps currently everything is set to low but textures.

Status report:
Changed preferred refreshrate to "maximun available" in driver settings for second time and alt-tabbing seems to work.

Thanks everyone for tips and support. :)
