As others have said, it is kinda soon to say with any certainty but personally I'm looking at something along the lines of...

100 ton Assault (King Crab or Atlas)
65 ton Heavy (Gauss-Jag or Thunder-Wub)
Hunchback 4G
ECM Trollmando

or

Stalker 3F
Cataphract (3D or Ilya)
Hunchback 4G
Firestarter 9H

Wubmaster, Wubberbolt, Wubverine, Partystarter-A <- Maximum WUB
Giant Enemy Crab, Griffin-1N or Sparky, HBK 4G or CN9-AH, Huginn <- Close Combat
2x Thunderbolt-SS, 2x Shawk of various configurations <- Tryhard?
BLR-1S, Cat-C4, JM6-A, COM-TDK <- Too tired, didn't aim, tt;da

Various experiments need to be done with the grasshopper before I can adequately determine any other builds.

Clan's easy.
TBR, 3x SCR
2x HBR, 2x SCR
DWF, 2x SCR, KFX-Toolbox

No sense bringing anything else despite having all clan chassis mastered.

A lot will depend on the maps themselves. So far, we know that one team will be dropped from one of three drop ships on one side of the map and the other team will be defending some sort of base with a giant cannon in it on the other. We've seen a picture of a giant gate between two hills with turrets on them. If the defending team does have some sort of fortress or defensible structure, such as being able to get on top of the gate I mentioned, so that they can fire at enemies, there will be a few mechs that will become very popular early on for the defenders.

Jagers, blackjacks and shads with their high mounted ballistics and battlemasters, K2s, some of the thunderbolts an a few other odd mechs with high mounted energy will be valuable for early defense...picking the enemy apart as they approach while hiding behind those fortifications. Also add to the mix any maneuverable LRM platforms with higher mounts.

Oops. I shouldn't have revealed my strategy before CW launches. I mean.... all Dragons.

Yup but they have to put up with my Roleplay in chat, so it is worth it lol.

Mine is probably....

You can respawn in a second copy of the same mech but you need to own two of them, e.g., you can have two Wolverine 6Rs in your drop deck if you have bought it twice.

Well technically you can't as its not a copy - you can die and then launch with an identical mech you owned and outfitted separately however. Yeah, I know I'm being picky! ;)

For me, a clan player, I will likely end up doing something few other clanners will do. Bring a light.

ADR-PRIME -- 2CERLL, 2CERML
HBR-PRIME -- 2CERLL, 4CERML, ECM
HBR-A -- Something...
TBR-C -- 2CLPL, 4CERML

If / when I drop as Clan in cw, I'll be bringing my Kit Fox guaranteed.

Not sure otherwise, but probably a Mad Dog, maybe an off-colour Dire Wolf, then what ever takes my fancy.

Is has to have Locusts.

I've just been doing math on combinations, I'l figure out exactly what mechs later.

45 + 45 + 50 + 100

40 + 50 + 55 + 95

45 + 55 + 55 + 85

50 + 55 + 55 + 80

55 + 55 + 55 + 75

50 + 50 + 65 + 75

There's a crapload of viable options.

Light Pilot
3xFirestarter
AS7 or KGC

throw away 35 tons... (would love to just run 4xFS9 and grant my extra bonus 100 tons to an Assault player [in my group]).

Well if I was going to drop IS, my deck would be:

Battlemaster

Firestarter

Love my Battlemasters and you can't complain about a Firestarter.

I would guess that I will be dealing with swarms of lights since everyone has at least one in their deck. Its quite possible that players will be dealing with 8-10 at a time. Im not sure about my deck yet but definetly will bring something thats speedy and can take down light mechs quickly.

Honestly, I'd say a Pulsey LCT-1M or upgraded PIRATES' BANE will be best for your complimentary Locust. (And I might just be running both...)

Ok, here is a picky question. Is drop deck weight calculated on the mech's max weight or the actual load out weight?
