Except the HBR was DOA and look at it now.

It was never DOA, and anyone who said it was is a fool. Now, the vindicator on the other hand, or the nova...

Yes it was, It had CT hitboxes all over the damn thing, you could get hit in the face from any angle. it was DOA for like 3 days till they fixed it.

where were you for the days that it was ALL CT?
It was DOA until it was given CPR in the form of actual proper hitboxes

Even when the HBR had borked hitboxes it was still a decent mech. It was absolutely never DOA.

Nope.
Unless you mean it was ok until a locust with a small laser or 2 looked directly at you then yes, it was fine

Sorry, but if you use a Mech counter to its intended purpose, you're using it wrong.

Ergo, "you just have to use it right".

I was owning other mechs like a boss with the broken hitboxes. Now, it's just godly.

I understand it. You have to expose alot of mech to fire over a hill and it honestly looks like the torso mounted weapons will be low in the torso as well so it will not have the ability like say a Battlemaster, to just peak over a hill and bring fire to bear on an enemy.

I think this mech is going to be alot more like an Altas where it will mostly be using the fire, twist, fire, twist sequence in order to spread damage and give it survivability. How well that works depends on alot of factors. First most of your weapons are in the arms so losing an arm is going to hurt. Second, the lower arms are very small so they aren't going to make for much of a shield. However, you don't have side torso vulnerability so if your skilled enough, you could turn just enough to split the damage between arm and ST rather than trying to take the damage on just the arm. Also 2 of the 3 variants have CT weapons so your never going to be completely weaponless on those two at least (3 variant might really be worth selling off though unless the quirk the hell out of it). Finally, with that 400XL your going to be very fast and agile for a 80ton light. 89 kph is nothing to sneeze at and the 400XL is going to insure maximum soft stats like maximum twist speed, turn radius, acceleration and deceleration.

All in all I am looking forward to it and while it might end up disappointing, I think it at least will be decent enough to play and have fun with.

since I expect it to be laser vomit brawling, the arms are not an issue. For other roles, indeed, like most clan mechs, they are too low to be ideal.

I piloted mine like a Dragon during that time, and I did okay, often making it till the final 4/3 on my team...

Yes. I did great in the Hellbringer when it had broken hitboxes. Well until people started shooting at me. However, 70% of the matches I played with it, I was dead before I managed to break 200 damage. If that is not DOA, I don't know what is.

Now though, it is a good mech. Not Tier 1 caliber but solid Tier 2.

that's not DoA. That is simply poor quality control. And an easily fixed bug. DoA is when things are so egregious you have to warp time and space to make them viable, like the Awesome. Yes, even then you had people who did "good" in them.....almost exclusively as LRMboats, hiding from direct contact.

That is what I consider DoA, no tan obvious, fixable bug on an otherwise good chassis.

Of course, if it's not tier 1, apparently some on here feel it's DoA. After all, anything under tier one is not optimal, and thus not viable.

Well, at least the CT slot is higher than the arms...barely.

That's a disappointment.
