Will there be an Event or a Contest?
I looked at the usual places and see nothing.

This is why we can't have nice things!

Yeah no confirmation of a contest or lack-thereof so far.
I guess any sort of challenge would have started by now anyway.

People who dislike things are very, very vocal about it, so they can end up getting their way even if they don't represent the majority.

Yeah, I'm one of those guys who has put a lot of money into the game and can't stand the horrible gamification behavior during the contest weekends.
[Redacted] I don't completely blame the F2P scavengers for the game play, as it's PGIs fault for setting up rewards in a way that more or less guaranteed horrible behavior from the proles.
Got a problem with my attitude? I care a lot.

I'm a paying customer who thinks challenges every weekend are fun, even though I don't do well in them. You're falling prey to confirmation bias if you seriously think gameplay is any different during challenges than not.
Honestly, if challenges keep people from playing like you I'm all the more for them.

Well hopefully CW will be outside of the week end events thingy and thus can continue on (even tho with less players) while all the rest are fighting tooth and nails to win a paper weight cockpit item

That being said, no event at all over the weekend is a bit of a let down though not as much as a crappy event would be.

I love the weekly events, but for most of this game's history, challenges and tournaments have been a semi-monthly thing. Even quarterly. It's been good these past few months, so I don't mind the occassional quiet time.

So Christmas/Holiday whatever you want to call it, its Christmas to me, rebrand Halloween with presents or coal, like Halloween. Week long, and people who don't like them can stay off while the rest of us enjoy the Holidays.

I am, however, quite surprised they aren't doing a weekend sale. Yes, they did Hero, premium time, and a MC bonus last week, but I would have thought they'd want to have something like a color/camo sale going at least, to get some impulse buys from folks who are sitting on new, hefty stockpiles of MC.
