So I thought since I was gonna start with a stock Cat, having bought the elite pak, that I should re-familiarize myself with the mech - especially limited to IS tech. So I fired up MW4V. What a blast working through the whole campaign to palace! I tried to get into Gameranger but they only have Mercs, which has no relation to what we shall expect at the opening of MWO. Had so much fun running the Atlas that I am planning to upgrade.

I went all out and downloaded Crysis War and got Living Legends running. After playing it I've higher expectations of MWO and I hope they do call them cockpit motion down some. Or give us the option to use the dreaded 3rd person view.

Yeah, Living Legends has been keeping me occupied waiting for MWO. Thank God.
Otherwise, I would have gone a little crazy.

MW 4 stopped working on this system and no amount of uninstalling/re-installing. I miss my Victor

At least MWLL still works.

I've been playing MW4M for awhile, and repeatedly headbanging my head against the desk due to the bad AI. It *has* however been quenching my thirst/bloodlust/mech-oriented transfusion requirements however. When my new computer arrives (Friday) i may get LL and give it a go.

I have also decided to break out my old MW games, its nice to hear the 5 1/4 inch floppy drive churn up..unfortunately I don't believe that this will help me very much getting ready for MW:O

Since I can't play Mw4:mercs on my new computer for some unfathomable reason (I think the Quad core still kills it), I am considering loading up MW2:mercs and playing that instead.... and that REALLY won't prepare me.

Playing MW2, MW2 GBL, MW2 Mercs, MW3 PM at the moment, finished MW3 yesterday. Head over to mech2.org and download MechVM if you still have the old CD's somewhere. It runs on Win 7 64bit.

I'm playing MW4 Mercs atm on a 64-Bit Windows 7 with a quad core.

Couldn't resist to put mechs full of clan tech... shame on me. :)

I think that I have a vague memory of MechWarrior 4.

It was very difficult to control your mech unless you had hands and fingers like an octopus so I uninstalled it without even playing for five minutes.

I hope that it goes better this time around. :)

Get MW4 here, free - http://www.fileplane...%28Free-Game%29

regedit - change davion.mektek.net to kurita.mektek.net

No its not the processor, its most likely your virus protection, detecting the game as a virus, which is false. Anyway, try just downloading the free version from MTX< its much easier. http://www.fileplane...%28Free-Game%29

THAT... is just idiotic... If you couldnt figure out how to customize your controls in MW4, then you wont be able to do it in MWO either.

*shakes head* This has to be in the top 5 dumbest posts ever.....

Anyone playing the mektek mod .0030 come on and lets get the sunder II missionplay server alive again. You will need to download the maps though, buts its pretty easy. Also its on kurita.mektek.net, not the davion... if your on davion u need to switch to kurita using your regedit.exe

Oooooh you are the cranky one. :)

And what would you know about the controls in MWO?

I tried both the disk and the download - the game starts just fine but the auto config won't recognize my GPU and the game just runs absolutely awful even at the lowest settings, like less than 10fps. I couldn't figure out a way around it so it just infuriated me.

He probably just did the same as I did back then, and thought that auto-center was a core part of the game, and not something you can toggle on/off.

I've since learned that by disabling that "feature", mechs become more natural feeling, the disastrous mouselag disappears, and general goodness & happy bunnies spring out of the map & pour rainbow juice on you.

I found my old MW2:mercs disc last night, i'm going to run through the guide and get it setup on my win7 box so I can start practicing again.

I got MW4 as well but the temptation to use tech that won't be available in MW:O is strong :)

Playing with IS mechs in MWLL tonight on a US server with 239ms ping was still fun

sadly it still suffers from the race to Assault Mechs problem its pretty much always had, but still fun none the less
