having a 2 would mean it would dissipate a lot of heat but it might have a low maximum heat capacity meaning you could overheat but it cools down faster.

Here is what I did. I went into the training ground, and fired at a wall. Count how many times you can fire your different weapon groups without overheating, then commit that to memory. It is easy to lose track of your heat in the heat (lol) of battle, but if you have a basic understanding of your baseline limits, then you can manage it better.
Also I usually go to the Terra Therma map as well, just to see what its like under horrible heat conditions as well, just test out all the environments.
This has helped me, but keep in mind I am a bit of a newbie, so I am sure more people on here can offer better advice

yeah I took it to Caustic for testing (like I do for everything)
Embarrassed to say I bought a Huginn with my left over MC from my TW purchase
Edit sorry I hardly ever use the snoopy web site

Also recommend you remove any ammo from your side torsos. Put the ammo in your legs, even one in your head. MG ammo can even go in your arms as that is where your MGs are. If your ammo gets hot or critical hit you will die straight away as your XL engine also extends into your side torso.
I also assume that you meant to have SRM ammo indicated rather than 1 ton of Streak ammo.
Cheers!

don't put that ammo in your legs, you are in a light and that tends to be what people shoot the most. you really don't want a crit going off in there.

You're overheating due to one or two main factors:
Huginn has quirks to the SRM4s such that they fire 50% faster with a 15% decrease to heat generation, so in reality your heat generation is something like 2.55 HPS instead of 2 HPS. Compare that with a maximum heat dissipation of 2.3 HPS with 10 double heatsinks after unlocking all the mech efficiencies.
In addition, if you're jump jetting a lot, that'll either add to your heat generation or at least prevent your heat from dissipating.
Then factor in environmental conditions.

No embarrassment at all man! My buddy uses his with SRM4's and the refire on those with quirks is INSANE. Turns it into a mini-brawler that can seriously mess stuff up as a striker

If you're overheating, try dropping to 1.5 tons of MG ammo and throwing a heatsink into your engine.

(50% = double speed from quirks, +12% module +5% efficiency = 67% = triple speed)

man I was overheating on cool maps, I also run out of ammo a lot
right now I think I will try one SRM6 and one SRM4 at least until I can afford a smaller XL engine

Just get rid of the machine guns, use the tonnage you save for SRM ammo, then get behind any mech and core them in 4 seconds.
