New player jumps into the game today, and wants to grind for a week to get a drop deck for CW - and expects to be able to play 200-250 games before then, what drop deck would you guys recommend?
I threw this list together very quickly. I'm certain that others can easily improve upon the builds here, or offer much better suggestions. The goal is to have a dropdeck for under 30mil.
TDR-5SS: 7xMPL, AMS+1T, BAP, 20DHS = 8.1M
TDR-9S: 6xMPL, 2xAMS+2.5T, BAP, 19DHS = 7.3M
TDR-9SE: 3xLPL, 2xML, 16DHS, Endo = 7.2M
BJ-1DC: 6xMPL, 17DHS, AMS+.5T=5.6M
Total = 28.2M
All of the mechs were given DHS, none have modules. What dropdecks would you guys suggest to a new player just jumping into the game and wanting to be prepared for CW next week - only Free to Play content, no cash.

Two SHDs and two TDRs sound like a good start...
The absolute cheapest will be fourJenners Firestarters (can't buy four different Jenners for CB) for the minimum 140t drop

30 million barely buys you two kitted-out robots, with one module each.
I recommend shadowhawks or stormcrows, depending on if you go IS or clan.
Edit: i know you're trying to save money by using stock engines, but that's not a good idea.

No one says you have to buy 4 different mechs. If you have one variant you like, just buy 4 of the same variants.

If the goal is to not waste CB, buying more of the same is, IMO, wasting CB. ESPECIALLY if people want the player to stick around for any length of time.

Stormcrows as 11 mil each - so getting 4 of them would put you over 40mil.
Shadowhawks are viable though.

New player is going to need 4 of the same mechs so he can elite them.
I would go with hawks/griffins 1 or 2 would be able to get a xl engine others will have to stay with the stock layout for 30m.

For best performance you will likely need to stick with the same chassis. Reasons being that you want to get them Mastered to take advantage of such benefits.
All comes down to your play style but you will likely be better off to stick around the medium mech chassis range.
Clan or IS? IS may get you better bang for the CBills.
For my playstyle I would be tempted to go for Cicadas - especially the 2A and 2B for 6 medium lasers and 5 medium pulse lasers and the 3M for possible ECM support. These 3 will allow you to get them Mastered and with the change out of 30 million you will be able to purchase some modules.
Some people may even recommend Firestarters which are currently the flavour of the month for IS light mechs.
A difficult call, not knowing you playstyle though.
Cheers and good luck.
