Has it been announced if the game will have a 1st and 3rd person option ?

I only ask because I'm terribly old and I enjoy the simple things in life like being able to see which way my legs are facing on screen rather than rely on some pointer on screen somewhere - my minds just not that agile anymore

Besides I liked 3rd person view in the previous games. When I took incoming fire I could see my mech getting enveloped in a fireball of incoming only to see it walk out the other side of the fireball still firing away albeit with a few scorch marks on the chassis its a great way of keeping track of how many arms your mech has left too

First.

Third is not a simulation.

They have said they will look into a Third person view if they can make it part of the simulation.

After playing MechWarrior Living Legends I hope they offer a 3rd person view or allow the player to tone down how much the cockpit moves.

Fingers crossed they have a change of heart and put 3rd in.

I know its getting old comparing wot again and again, but the 3rd person view you are forced to use (aside from snipe mode) works well and its nice to be able to see your own vehicle

Many people have mentioned they will run particular mechs because they 'like the look of them' going to be dissapointing if you can never see your own apart from in the mech lab for fitting out.

Being able to zoom in and out from cockpit to 3rd person and back again I think would be a great feature

if you get hit with a ac 10 or 20 you should feel it. your mech would not be ok . have you ever been hit by a fist or pushed. you move your aim would not be good untill you recovered form the hit. and 3rd person is a good way for power gamers to look around corners and use 3rd person as an advantage ... plus if you use it normaly as an honest person you still would get an advantage .

ps this is a sim intended to make you feel like a mechwarrior .. not Just the mech.. as said in their interviews

Adding 3rd person as an option quickly makes 3rd person the standard since it has advantages of higher FoV.

Problem with 3rd person in WoT was that you could use the camera to see round corners by zooming about and looking at your tank from a side on view.

Sorry.. I know you're new. Just this topic makes me want to kick dirt.

We are solely a first person game. 3rd person may come into play a few years from now but no where in the near future.
