I know I'm kind of clutching at straws here when dishing out some negative feedback but it's something that bugs me a little bit. Clan mech cockpit interiors, I'm a bit underwhelmed with them.

I'm not saying they should look like the Playboy Mansion or anything, I just think they look a bit less technologically advanced than some of the IS cockpits and generally a bit... crap. The Jagermech and Centurion are a couple of IS examples which I think are really great that would be better suited as clan interiors.

First world problems...

Clan warriors are known for their austerity and distate for anything wasteful. It is the Spheroids mechs that are cluttered with junks and posters of well endowed women (or men).

Yet PGI had introduced warhorns with the arrival of Clans... <_<

Nothing wrong with feedback op and i think you'll find that there's a difference in feedback like you just gave and "feedback " that consists of "this sucks! " ;)

For anyone who is a flightsim player like myself... They'll appreciate this premise.

Compared to US cockpits, European block cockpits are quite pedestrian. ;)

I kind'a view Clan pits in the same way... "Function over form".

I see the OPs point a bit though. I would think the Clan mechs were more advanced. The cockpit control panel on some mechs looks like they have analog gauges in them. It seems odd.

I just would have thought the clans would have a bit more of a tech streamlined control panel. Maybe PGI could do it, but there would be too many Signal Detect: No monitors everywhere :/

well I think they need to be revisited because some textures seem low res and there is major clipping and holes in some mechs.

Personally, I think the victor cockpit is the best in the game

Digital gauges can break easier, analog is often where its at in military machines. Don't get me wrong. Digital is used a lot in communications, targeting, navigation and vision enhancement; but every military vehicle I've used has analog instruments for when digital dies. And they do die.

Clan 'mech cockpits do look worse than their IS counterparts. They basically remind me of Russian fighter jet cockpits. The semi-blue paint, the gauges, the panels. All of it. It drips of 1980s Russian technology.

As I alluded to earlier... I actually think that's what the art department is trying to convey. ;)

At least there is a noticeable difference in the cockpit designs. I also guess the clan way is more function over aesthetics.

I still think the IS interiors look "better" though :D

Still some pretty low res textures in the clan cockpits and pretty bad clipping.

Yeah, I was really expecting something along the lines of a Boeing 777 cockpit (Clans) vs UH-1 cockpit (IS). Now, I thing the Griffin, Wolverine, and Shadowhawk do this nicely and overall the IS cockpits are as I expect (first impressions), but the Clans are a bit technologically underwhelming. Not fancy, but functionally more efficient and therefore cleaner and more streamlined.

After piloting the Man O' Chub I have to say I'm warming to the clan cockpits now and really get the analogue vs digital design ethos.

Having said that I still wonder if it the cockpits might be better off in reverse, i.e. clans with digital tech and IS with aged analogue designs.

Either way though, the stark contrast is really nice to see and another nod to the great thought and design process gone into this game.
