4 mechs camped my Stalker instead of going after the objective. Was killed in 20 seconds. The drop ship vaporized all 4 of them.

Working as intended.

Spawns on Sulphurous Rift are too close to the gates. Other than that you can't camp to win and that's more like over-running the spawn anyway.

You can spawn camp with long range weapons. That is the way to do it, not be directly under the dropship.

We had this last night our 12 man had fought all the way to their base killed all their turrets and generators and had the gun down to about 10% health but instead of finishing the job we went for more salvage and more wonga. Ended up spawn camping their dropships in their base and an unlucky raven dropped right in front of my brawler awesome 8V and got a 65 point alpha and no sooner had his legs hit the ground than he was instantly vaporized, poor sucka.

Was a cruel match for the reds but i walked away from it with about 732k C-bills lining my pocket!

Bring back the large lasers on the dropships. Those things were strong so you couldn't just sit at the landing zones. You actually had to go for the objective before they dropships killed you. The tactics and maps sizes makes defending non existant. Nobody wants to play defend and especially against suspect clans.

IT would be nice if Dropships wouldnt land you right where the enemy is. It's not so much Spawn Camping as it is the drop zone is right on top of where the enemy is advancing.

Its an absoulute ******* joke, how hard would it be to up gun the drop ships or give them gunship support to discourage spawn camping.
As it is, CW is not enjoyable to me, no matter which end of the spawn camping I may be on.

This flaw makes the game a joke.

I know this thread was necroposted, but this thread is really funny to look back at:

I think players should be able to manually select their drop location within their team's territory, and maybe even drop themselves directly on top of an opponent's head if that enemy is within their "spawn" area. Steel Rain!

This got 38 'likes,' ahaha. Oh how naive we were to think that dropships would be useful in any capacity and that spawn camping wouldn't be a problem. I miss those halcyon days.

Well lets look at the tactics we have. Take our full force and throw it against an enemy's full force plus base defenses. We have no reserves. we MUST take everything we have to attack.

Just how stupid are the folks setting this up?

IF you throw everything you have at the enemy and lose, the enemy can and should shoot fish in a barrel after that. It is not Unfair, it is SOP.

I would like to post a formal complaint against our drop ship pilots. These self obsessed flyboys have little to no regard of where they drop their 'payload'. I suggest immediate grounding and retraining for all drop ship pilots which will include:
  • Target identification
  • 'Hot Drop Zone' recognition
  • Circling & Strafing manovers
  • The 'Battering Ram' technique
Furthermore I motion that the dropships external cameras be linked with Mech pilots to enable strategic bombing placement prior to drop, the dropships make use of IR smoke canisters on 'Hot drops' and Mech pilots be given full control of retro fitted , belly mounted quad UAC5 'Face Rippers'.

I look forward to your prompt response,

Bolter01
