You have a different idea of what cheap is to me, or have your currency units mixed up. It isn't cheaper to buy things with C-bills, which are basically infinite in quantity as long as you play (and cost NOTHING), than to buy them with MC which costs REAL money? I operate under the opposite system, buy everything with C-bills that I can easily earn back playing, and save MC for those items that you can only purchase with MC.

Time is money. Have you ever looked at how much MC's worth of C-bills you make an hour when you do the conversion? On a good night you are still getting far less then any minimum wage paying job.

dual ac20 / x2 large laser / standard 270 / x4 DHS / 8 tons ammo / standard armor; internal structure / ac20 range5 / ac20 cooldown5

1st volley on target, dual ac20's followed by chain fired LL's
2nd volley on target, chain fired ac20's
3rd volley on target, chain fired ac20's followed by chain fired LL's

heat pretty high by now, but target either dead or crippled. get lucky with an arty strike and job even easier. got a wing man, and few targets survive 15 seconds.

ac20 cooldown5 plus quirks just lets you pour damage out. hell, i engaged a stalker from the rear. 1st dropped an arty on his a$$, did above sequence, and the stalker was unable to even turn around to get a shot off. 3 solo kills that particular round, 6 kills total, ummm 0 assists, lmao.

all in all, a good mech. only weakness i see is, it is suseptible to LRM's. that wide flat head is just asking for it.

dakka crab for me. 2xac2, 2xac5, 2xuac5, lvl5 ac5 cool down, lvl5 uac5 cool down, XL 350. Moves quick and agile (for its size) and anything in front of it just melts. I have only played a few games in it but so far I am loving it.

All in all, very good Assault mech. Only issue I had right away is... Why would PGI start some of them with FF Armor when its more productive to take Endo for the same crit space and more tonnage savings?

So my advice to anyone trying to get a few extra tons of ammo into your Crab or max out its armor, get rid of FF Armor and switch it for Endo Steel.

That was a bit funny for me too
Had to pay "extra" to downgrade to normal armor, damn :D

Maybe it comes with FF lore wise?

Seems so, I was mildly annoyed that I had to spend another 2.8m just to adjust the upgrades. But still, the mech is lots of fun. First match, 4 kills and 700ish damage and it stayed like this.

BTW, Wuppertal, nice - my old home town is Remscheid :-)

It's lore. The 000 and 000b are Star League era, when FF was all the rage. The 0000 is a post Star League version to make the exisiting examples a bit more affordable to use prior to the 'lostech' in the design being rediscovered.
