hey guys just had another high "G" dog fight in the Raven

but this thing needs a bubble canopy like a P51D Mustang

maybe call it the D Raven

do you think PGI would go for it?

what do you think?

I do pilot a Raven, but I didn't understand a single word you said (well, besides "Raven").

Uh... maybe? A raven is nothing like a plane though, I think it needs a black sleek camo like the bird though.

With an evil hawk warhorn and flames coming out.

Oh and the Raven is not needing a Summoner/Griffin cockpit. What it is is what it is.

A bubble canopy doesn't have any struts. It basically provides an unobstructed view.

Sorry a dog fight is the term used to describe a turning twisting battle in the air

Similarly when a Raven or any Mech is engaged in a turning twisting fight it can be consider a dog fight, especially when jump jets are used and there are missiles and guns blazing

The P51 was a WWII fighter that saw an evolution in development from a closed strutted cockpit to the bubble canopy of the P51D

I have only had these raven's a week but I keep getting into fights lasting a min and we are at max speed jumping twisting firing over hills and what not

I am losing sight of my targets as I chase them
I need better visibility the current cockpit is to visually restrictive
The solution would be a bubble type canopy like on the WWII fighter the P51D or the modern F16/F15

When I speak of hi "G" the G is for gravity, I am role playing and saying I am in extreme hi "G"
Maneuvers I am stressing my Mech and body to the max!

the term over "G" means I have exceeded the designed max "G" loading the Mech can take (stay at the over "G" limit to long and the craft will bend then break)

Missiles can pull 30"G" and that's why you can see them take a near 90 deg turn

hope this helps

Uhm...why do you need a Canopy? Fully skilled the torsotwistrate is insane enough to look around close to instant.
And for black and fire stuff:

When you are padlocked on a target like a Mist Lynx as you go down into a depression he jumps hi you can lose sight of him

Sometimes your engaged with more than one bandit more visibility is needed

Custom cockpits would be nice. Probably going to take 3-4 years though. And then another 3-4 years before we can choose their colour.

What I would like to see is double the jump jet limit on the RVN-4X and Huginn. The RVN-4X is the most lightly armed of all Ravens, it has half the firepower of the Jenner, with less speed. Why the hell won't they let it fly?

Pgi plz.

4X is lightly armed? My main builds are:
UAC5 + 2ML + ~120kph + 2JJ
AC10 + ML + 1JJ + ~110kph
AC20 + SL + 1JJ + ~100kph

UAC5 being the most fun :)

I think you mean it needs a Raven's squawk as a warhorn. Hawks are very different birds...

Well, you can put dual AC20's on a Cicada too, but that doesn't make it a heavily armed mech. Putting a huge ballistic weapon on a Raven still makes it woefully outgunned against a Jenner. While also being out-maneuvered and inferior in just about any meaningful way :)

Except in the fun department. :D
Ran an AC 20 Huggies for quite a while when I was leveling it.

Wat was your AC20 Huginn setup? Also LB-X10 setup could be fun. I know, the quirks favor SRM4 machinegun, but i also had fun runs in LRM5+SSRM2+4MG Huginn. You just sneak behind enemy and start showering lrms, distracts enemies nicely, so your team can make a push. As for visibility - didnt find it bad, but ofcourse, the more the better.

Silly me thinking this was going to be about the Raven somehow not getting a hitbox pass in today's update when so many mechs with better hitboxes got one.

Yes, that helps, thanks a lot. You have to remember that fighter planes are not armored, because they aren't supposed to get hit. Mechs on the other hand...I doubt you could make a bubble canopy that could withstand an AC/20 shot.
