While chain firing my AC/20's last night my King Crabs heat jumped to over 60% everytime. This made no sense, because a single PPC shot which is 10 vs. 12 heat was only going up to 15% or so. Not sure if it's the quirks or what but kinda jacked.

What is it... a half second that you have to wait between shots on AC/20? Are you waiting long enough between alternating clicks?

As hornsby pointed out, you have to wait half a second or more before firing your second AC20, otherwise you get 24 heat instead of 2x6. It doesn't really matter if you chainfire them or have them in seperate weapon groups, only the time between shots matters.

That is good to know, I didn't know what the actual timing was to avoid the ghost heat. Thanks Lads!

So THAT is why 2 ac2's chain fired get exponential ghost heat. Hm, makes sense now.

Time and space your shots... manage your heat... read the caution notification in Mechlab too... Ghost Heat is the bane of any MechWarrior's existence
