When Will Autocannons Be True Autocannons?

This is a question I have had on my mind for a very long time. I am pretty certain we all have been running around with our AC/20's on Inner Sphere 'Mech and planted solid hits into others, stripping away a huge chunk of armor. But that is not really how an Autocannon is supposed to work is it?

When the Clan Mechs were released, we saw how Autocannons are supposed to behave. The Inner Sphere counterpart acts more like an auto-loading cannon instead of an automatic cannon. When will the Inner Sphere Autocannons fire several shells per shot instead of just one?

And on a different note, when will we see slug ammunition for the LB-X?

Never. Burst Fire has been decided to be a Clan-only quirk to ballence out their higher range and lower weight.
Remember, all of their shells combined = the damge the Autocannon is stated to do.
Remember, Clan's 5 burst AC20 does 20 damage altogther. It's a nerf to balance the buffs.

So... if Clan PPCs get splash damage... do the IS equivalent get the same? How about IS XL Engines vs Clan XL Engines?

The debate can go on... and on... and on... this is the Devs way to "balance" things.

Due to this though, I rarely see Clans sport an UAC20 or any AutoCannons at all because compared to the Inner Sphere, they are crap...

Which is funny... Because Clan Tech is supposed to be -better- than the Inner Sphere.

Have to admit I am getting quite tired of this constant favouritism towards the Inner Sphere.

Let AutoCannons be AutoCannons PGI. Let them work the same way.

Imagine what would happen if a Dire Wolf could load up 2-3...4 UAC20 that shoot single 20 pts shells.

I'd be much more interested to see Clan LBX cannons get their alternate fire in the game.

Uhhh, Chapel ... I always imagined that .

It´d be like putting the scale back to neutral and have an effing level playing field ... for at least some mechs .

Doesn´t sound tooooo bad, really .

That is not what I am asking for. I am asking -all- AutoCannons to actually be AutoCannons. Fire several shells with each click if you will.

Why do so many people want to remove the flavour or having IS and Clan work the same? That is boring. I was so happy when clan tech was introduced to see that they behaved and looked differently than IS tech. Clan tech wasn't just IS tech with different numbers.

So if you want "true" autocannons, why don't you just pilot clan mechs?

Right, I'm really curious now.

Where in tabletop does it ever take into account multi-fire projectiles for an AC/20. As far as i understand it, the rules take into account accuracy, range and turn.

This is a fact finding question as i have never played the tabletop (just hunted for the rules online) so please do not take it to support a particular side to the current argument. (i post it here because it still seems relevant though).
