I noticed that on the packages splash pages, that the initial Invasion packages were still for sale. Is it still possible to upgrade a package, and if so, how would I go about doing that?

You should be emailing support with the questions....
Pretty sure you can buy them for Real Life money any time you want. If you found the web page with them for sale that is where you do it.
