I assume the reason for NOT being able to participate in CW at the moment is due to patch/hotfix.
All Planets show Grey, not able to setup any match.

Played a little earlier, had no issues.

Any reduction in the number of active planets to funnel solo players into the same queues as partial groups? Perhaps just until we can see who's in the queues?

Speaking of the queues, how far off is the fix for chat and player listing?

If it's a counter attack then it should say so clearly and in CAPS. I'm dropping solo into these games and need the advantage of defending when it says "Defend". My second CW match I chose Defend only to be drop with a team made up of a few 2-3 man groups and a bunch of solos like myself only to have to attack the base being defended by a 12 man from the 228th. If this is the way it is supposed to be then it needs to clearly state either "Attack" "Defend" or "Counter Attack" so people know exactly what the are getting into.

Ok... so... got it working... somewhat. Picking Mechs and having them reset to a damned Champion with a move of the mouse before hitting save is annoying. Took 5 mins just to select 4 Mechs LOL fml

Now... ceasefire? Really... I have to wait between matches for a ceasefire to expire prior to hitting my next planet? Odd...

it took me over 3 hours to finally drop in a match, but its certainly a game changer, and great fun. look forward to more. having 80 dead mechs on the field certainly does naughty things to my performance though (although its not so uch an FPS hit as short screen freezes). hopefully there is some way to fix that with out resorting to disappearing wreckage

but yeah, wait times. there should be fewer planets up for grabs right now. help concentrate the player base, and reduce wait times. maybe 4 different clan attack sites, and only 4 inner-sphere hot spots in total. the non-canon hot spots should definatly be removed, such as the FS-FWL, FS-LC, and the LC-FRR, and DC-FRR (my understanding is that these groups are at least neutral towards each other)

As a faction leader, do I HAVE to choose one of the pre-determined clans/factions given by PGI? What if I want to be a lone-wolf? What then? Do my faction's/unit's members can't play community warfare then? One of them said that he doesn't see the choice banners once they go into the "Faction" tab. I don't know what this means for them and for me. Very confusing. I'd rather play as lone-wolf the community warfare or not at all, but, my unit's members should be able to make contracts with houses and play CW. Any light on this?

Choosing a faction for being a Lone Wolf or Merc is like choosing a contract ;)

I'm still waiting for a match... CW is just odd... and people have little patience when it comes to getting into a game so it's like the whole community is planet hopping looking for battles lol

Frame rate is pretty rocky. Interested to see how the gameplay balance shakes out.

I've also experienced the following:
  • Framerate issue (seems to happen after first respawn for me)
  • Seen the dropship flying out and killing a defender at Beta gate (not cool - he was nowhere near the base spawn)
  • Experienced the click-fest that is setting up a dropship.
  • Experienced the C-Bills not actually earned issue.
  • Experienced the cockpit disappearing if I turn too quickly on a respawned mech.

Some feedback (and notes for people who said they don't understand the UI):
  • You should keep the "Defenders required" notification up for the whole 5 mins of an Attack phase (with a countdown) until a Defender team is found - it was far too quickly flashing up and then disappearing as you can see from the feedback here as to not knowing where the action was (perhaps use the planet find UI for this?)
  • You need to make it more obvious that the Planet Finder list is the list of planets currently being attacked or defended (red sword for attack, purple shield for defend).
  • You need to improve the process of selecting a planet to attack/defend especially if in a group as the group ready status resets once the group leader chooses a planet for the group.
  • A small video tutorial of "Attack the gate generators to open the gates then attack the gauss cannon to win" would be excellent to convey to people what to do. The only reason we knew is because we attacked an empty planet and worked it out - for first time people dropping in, they had no clue. I'm sure this will improve in time as the knowledge spreads but right now everyone is a newb...
  • Attacker dropships need to have their weapons upgraded to dual-gauss rapid-fire cannons with a 500m range or something cos the spawn camping once Defenders are down 30-odd kills can become ridiculous.
  • Consider increasing the tonnage limit to 280. Most people took all heavies rather than throwing in an Assault into their dropship so we saw few Assaults and as a result when they did appear, they were alone and focused fast.

With all that said, it was exactly the experience I have been so longing for in this game. You have my monthly gaming budget for the foreseeable future if this carries on! The one thing I ask tho' is please, please, please start churning out maps as fast as you reasonably can. When I finally had to go to bed last night, I had to force myself to close the client, TS and walk away from my clanmates still staunchly defending Kurita's KaballI II - that has not happened with this game for at least the last 18 months, despite all the great mech content. THIS is what I wanted when I heard "Mechwarrior MMO". Thank you. :)

Loads of fun so far! The FPS drop is a bit harsh, hopefully that will be ironed out in time.

I just came from the most intense fight ever. The clans were slowly but steadily decimating us but we managed to draw down the clock and managed to end it with four pilots standing vs their horde. Best match I have ever played in any game.

how do I join? Cant find a join game button in the game for CW

I'm in the Atlas Hunters merc unit. Will this cause issue?

I'm guessing I'll have to leave the team to join a faction?

The over all game seemed fine, one crash, completely locked my system, and then gave me an error message that my 660 ti wasn't supported?

Reconnected and found my team being decimated.
Eventually it was down to me and one other. And as we dropped in our last mechs we had ten mechs within 300 meters of our drop ship. We hit the ground and took at least six alphas to various areas.

It was rather deadly for the two of us and it didn't seem like our drop ship cared about us at all.

It seemed that camping was a lot easier than taking out the cannon.

I really like the dropship behavior. It looks realistic and feels like something out of a movie 10/10. The issue with some players being dropped into a bad spot for this mode is also realistic and the dropships do provide some support. Its great that I can see on the map as the ship swoops in to as a defender or attacker. As a defender I found myself watching to see if I would be droping into a dangerous part of the map and considering what to do when drop occured. :)

Really if the FPS could be improved and the cockpit bug then I would say its perfect and move onto adding more maps and new features. :) Make a pass on minor improvments later down the road.

On the star map side the only thing that should really be added before the hinted at UI overhaul is the alerts. The alerts should be more persistent and consistent, to easy to miss and just doing regular play i am not even sure they show on the star map at all. I had no trouble with anything else and the reasons for having the queue as is make sense.

Click on "Faction" tab first.

Wait times wait times wait times. Needs to be much more obvious if people are in a queue for a planet with you or not. enemy team too, that way you know if there's anyone actively playing against you.

Hide names and unit tags as a surprise for when you actually load in, but a simple counter in the corner of the waiting for match screen that had the following info would be massively helpful.

Defenders in current Queue: #/12
Attackers in current Queue: #/12

Followed by a basic (#/A - #/D) (Attackers/Defenders in planet queue) following each planet on the Select a planet window, so you could see at a glance which planets are hot targets and need people.

Lastly, maybe a modification of the "For faster wait times drop X mech class" window geared for CW.
Make it a "For faster wait times, play on planets X, X, X, or X" And literally just have it be the 4 most populated plantary queues.

That is all. Please consider.
