There are a number of bugs that need to be fixed. That was to be expected. Shoot, one match we dropped and the entire enemy team vanished. Poof. Frame rate issue is obvious. Graphical issues with rocks are dealing more damage to my legs than an AC/20. One disconnect means four fewer mechs in the fight with an average of two per match and they are usually on the same side. Wait times are atrocious. Etc. etc. etc.

All that being said, I've had a blast this evening. The game mode is really fun. It feels like MechWarrior again.

That being said, I will address the elephant in the room. You've unleashed the competitive teams on your larger player base and I don't think it can last long. These guys are a bit drunk on their mech powers right now and are being downright ugly toward their "lessers". Unfortunately for you as a gaming company, there are only a handful of elite players to pay you and a ton of us "ggclose newbs don't know where the gate is lol lol lel". You might want to work on a way for us to avoid these people if we don't feel up to the challenge.

The standard response on the forums is to go back to normal game mode, I think that is absurd and a very bad business model. Here's hoping you'll come up with something to allow everyone to enjoy CW.

Agree with you there. Some ingenious anti Newb stomping system will need to be devised to keep the elite playground bullies away from the 1st grade kids who just want to have some CW fun.

Thats likely to be your biggest challenge here PGI.

In that, I don't envy you and I wish you luck.

Is it UI 3.0? Collisions? Merc-unit CW?

Yeah we learn fast and know now what Hot Fix really means :P

Greetings MechWarriors,

We'll be sending out a very small hot fix at 9PM PST / 5AM UTC tonight to resolve an issue where Attacker wins were able to exceed more than 11 wins. This fix should have no affect on server status.

Just wanted to give everyone a head's up!

Now that that's over with...how goes your first day with Community Warfare?! We know, it's a little rocky here and there, but more fixes are coming!

well players with the right mind should expect bump here and there,as rocky as it is we do appreciate the effort n the early 'xmas' present ,,keep up the good work pgi

I had one game yesterday and it was good fun. Alot of stuff happening and also the feeling to fight for something is great.
I know im not the only one but as solo player i feel a bit lost on how to get into games. The one game yesterday was following a defending call. When i came in filled the last spot.
As single player it seems i cant just start defending or attacking as nobody is joining this atempt. Are there any information on how to get into games in an acceptable time frame? After the one game yesterday i tried 2-3 hours without any luck.

Do i need mc for this? or a 12 man group or what? Would be nice to get some answers on this topic.

Group size and group Elo are much more important in CW than anything else. The actual player numbers are largely random since anyone can join any faction. The map does not reflect that in any way. Elo was not a requirement to join a Clan. The tech advantage was diminished on purpose. This would be fine, but not with multiple times smaller starting territory for Clans. To reflect the much closer tech and skill setup built into MWO, CW should start closer to the battle of Tukayyid, not right at the beginning of the invasion.

With the current setup, there is no way for Clans to get anywhere near as far as in lore. That means a guaranteed huge disadvantage as soon as there are any tangible benefits from holding territory.

My first day goes that there's barely anyone to fight. Contracted with the FRR, right on the border with all the clans... and yet I've had 3 fights all night, one of which was a match with only turrets to fight.

What should I call a Community Warfare mode with no community, and no warfare?

Hi there,
please fix the drop window menue where you can not see who is loaded in to an attack or defend until the full 12 has been loaded in. It would be nice to see how many we still need to fill the drop.

wow game is now broken. CW crashes with memory error even after relogin. -_-

Watching my system memory it seems to chew up about 3GB extra.

Still only about 6.6GB out of 16GB of system memory used when it crashes.

Edit: got into another CW match after, the only thing I can think of that was different was the mech i had selected for first drop. Only had issues when 4th mech was selected, 1st mech works fine, havent tested the other slots. So not conclusive but may have something to do with it.

just tried the invasion mode. 10 seconds freezes and the FPS of 5-10 is more dangerous in the middle of the battle than the enemy. Rushed into the base on kit fox - got 10 secs freeze - at the end of freeze I found myself dead. Then I found a weird bug of dropship interface that doesn't disappear after the drop, so my mech can't move or do anything. I could only write messages in chat about my pain)

Therefore 2 of 4 mech were useless due to technical issues=(

Uhh, quick fix that lobbying so that getting games is faster and easier. 20-30min waiting time for a game is ridiculous, if all you get after is our brave pug-militia getting stomped by competitive and highly organized clanners.

That said, now that I got a taste of cw, that old **** feels so boring that don't even want to play it anymore. Just waiting in que allday everyday.

Oh, and Thank You for early christmas, the game got definitely more interesting,

Took a bit to figure out to group up for CW to create the group on the unit tab in social.
Could use some indicators of where players are queuing up for battles to help with wait times. Or maybe lower the amount of planets for a little while until more units get involved.
Only played one match so far and I like what I see. Definitely feels different than the modes we have been playing. I also don't mind the fact that the drop ships fire on you as they leave the area. Reminds me of some of the missions back from MW2 mercs.

Out of my deck I had one mech that had the cockpit disappear and go in and out some. I believe I heard that PGI thinks it might be due to certain cockpit items. I had items in all of my mechs including faction warhorns. But the one that had issues had the Halloween lights and one of the hanging skull pumpkins. I have not had a chance to check to see if that mech still had issues after removing the lights.

Overall I like what I have seen and looking forward to more CW and hopefully lower wait times.

I've managed to play 2 CW games. After that, I just seem to sit and wait in the CW lobby without anyone showing up. Same story when I choose different planets to help Defend/Attack.

Is there something I'm missing? Not enough players interested in CW games? Or is anyone else having difficulty getting CW matches?

PGI, when I first came into the game. I was over joyed to see the fact that there is 30 minute games, I quite like long games but I didn't expect that most games go to the 30 minute mark. (For instance war thunder is 60 minutes/ 1 hour but normally match ends in 8-15 minutes there)>

I was amazed at the map design (I love both of them SO MUCH!) and I quickly learned that my mech load out is a bit poor.
Most of my clan mechs are ammo based and all the energy mechs are struggling with speed / damage/ range. Which I do not mind. It gives a unique viarity in the battle field.

I am looking at this and I can not wait to see how repair and rearm will feel in this eventually. It'll improve the immersion quite a bit and make ejecting just because your favorite dakka weapon ran out of ammo.

I think ejection should be worked on a bit more. I would like to see an escape pod animation. (however the hunchback doesn't really have an ejection system, it's more a get your butt out of the mech yourself situation) However I can definitely wait for this.

I would love to see other kind of missions and objects of defense. ie: instead of a big gun it could be a factory complex and the attackers are trying to destroy the whole factory . (Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries "Eaton - Bandit Hideaway anybody? :D ) or some other target priority / value. (Oil rigs, fuel tanks, etc)

I love this new game mode, it makes me feel like a little kid again playing the older MW games with the mission objectives and stuff. I can't wait to see where this goes.

(Would be cool if there was a resupply station or vehicle somewhere for ammo, These kind of missions typically had those lore wise, Typically for LRM boats or Arrow IV to rain down then reload to the nearest supply line or station)

Would love to see different kind of turrets. Things like smaller singular LRM 10 turrets or 2 Medium pulse turrets and stuff for the lighter work or close range support (most likely around the base area) while the larger health turrets (like the ones we got) come out, the 2 large laser turrets, the duel LRM 10+ turrets, etc.

Also there is a bug where my mech disappears... like I'm piloting it then my whole mech disappears, no cockpit items, no joystick or buttons or dash board or anything, just the UI and my invisible mech. (Also rejoining the match has no UI besides the chat. for me)

However right now I am asking more instead of commenting on what we have.

I really like how it is right now. Love the details and I can't wait to see more missions and maps alike or different in the good ways.

How did the first day go?

Laggy. Very laggy.
Buggy. Crashes left and right.

Waiting time is horrible, without knowing if anyone is going to show up to attack/defend planet X. No chat function to organize your faction.

That being said the games we played were fun. There is potential, no doubt.
Although I guess the gamemode might get stale very quickly.

In addition:
We won all our games. Others still lost the planet we were fighting for. Boo, hiss!
