Honestly my opinions are soured,. I want clan mechs, so unless a clan expansion comes out many of these mechs will be disallowed. here is hoping.

They're most likely not doing clan now so that they can add it as an expansion or update later.

Any of these would be nice. They are from a match down in Dallas back in like '04ish, its been a while. I'm a ELH'er so any of the old Star League mechs will work for me.

But if I had to pick one per weight class in the time frame we will be in:
Light: Jenner
Medium: PHawk (JJ and a LL = driving opponent insane)
Heavy: Marauder (old school badness)
Assault: Atlas (100 tons of fun and glory)

If this game is going to be FFP ONLY I definitely want the following Mechs in the game.

Scat
Cougar
Avatar (loved this mech in Mech3)
Daishi
Atlas
Madcat
Mk2
Catapult (hopefully the swaying is not in MercsOnline - FPS was horrible but 3rd person that mech was a BEAST in 2 or 3's)

Just sucks that most my favorites are CLAN... since clan most likely won't be in the release (from what I've read)

for realism for commanders of units who need better tactical diplays if we end up having large scale fights -
Battlemaster (had a command couch in it)
Cyclops (command centre and space communication) I may be thinking of the wrong mech here??
Rifleman (advanced radar system)
anything that had TAG or ECM/Beagle (numerous mechs)

In true faction style if we are limited on choices then I think each faction should have access to the common mechs + house specific designs - ie, Kurita had the dragons and grasshopper, Liao had the Lhao Hu and Thunder (I think), Steiner were more about slower weapons platforms, Marik were reasonably mixed from memory.

Personal choices
Scarabus, Axeman (I'll get flamed heheheh)
Wraith
Flashman and Shootist
Archer and Thunderbolt (classics)
MAD II

I'm surprised more people haven't mentioned the Assassin.

In the board game I almost always had one of these on my side when I played. A lot depends on how targeting and hits will happen, but I always relished being able to maneuver almost anywhere and get shots off without the target having a viable shot in return. Eventually working behind the enemy formations while the heavies held the enemy's attention and needling away at the poor rear armor.

Speed is life!

Totally agree. I'd seriously rock in an Assassin. Also much love for the Raven.

I like several battlemechs the Behemoth,MadCat, Aidon Prydes personal madcat version now,Battlemaster is another good mech but my 2 most vavorite mechs that I like to use are the Bushwhacker and the Vulture there both medium size mechs and can be equipped with weapons that can hit a target at various degrees of long and or short distances but come to me in a medium and short distance type scenario I will tear you apart God I can't wait for this game to start

I know that both of these mechs are medium size mechs the Bushwhacker is a 55 ton mech where the Vulture is a 75 ton mech but depending on the variants both of these mechs can be very bad news for anyone with in the medium range distances they combine just enough armor and weapons that they can stay in a battle a little bit longer than most of the other medium size mechs of there weight class of course thats just tabletop version of play but I would choose them over any other medium size mech just to let you know my favorite light weight mech is the 25 ton Tarantula Star League era 2025 my favorite heavy is the madcat and my favorite assault mech is the Battle master

Since no Clan mech's are coming at launch, ill take a trash can with legs and an A/C 10 for kicks lol, I want to see a Mackie as a rare mech. But I def want a Battlemaster, Zeus, Centurion CN9-YLW (Solaris Variant), and a Hatchetman. To bad they wont implement melee in the game for now. Other wise give me a Hatchetman and lets dance kids!

I almost exclusively have piloted Shadowcats in MW4, my favourite, with the odd Cougar thrown in for when I just want to cause mayhem. I hope I don't have to wait too long to see them show up.
