It appears that the Clanners have adopted a new tactic. Leave the planet largely alone until 5-2 minutes before the ceasefire, then mass drop on it. The only way to counter this is by our own mass drops within that timespan.

I cannot speak for other units, but CGBI is not doing this (at least intentionally). I happen to log on the game around 9pm CST most week nights, which allows me to get in one match before the ceasefire, but everyone else I drop with has usually been playing for a few hours by then - most of my drops are after the ceasefire, unfortunately. We also have a large EU contingent that plays earlier in the day.

So, while it may seem like it is a "tactic", it is ore just a matter of the ceasefire timing. I would much rather have the ceasefire happen at some other time of the day, as roughly half of my gaming time each night is blocked by it currently.

Any time they pick for the ceasefire will be bad for someone around the world. we have players in pretty much every time zone. I would suggest we stop having a fixed time for cease fire. let it shift around from day to day or from week to week.
That way it may be a bad time for you today, but tomorrow it will be good for you and bad for someone else. this would be more fair to everyone. It would also prevent the "Tactic" discussed here, of deliberately attacking right before the ceasefire. If the ceasefire time keeps moving around organizing that tactic would be very hard.

I know there was a Davion call for "defense only" over Christmas, though it is difficult to get that many units to agree to anything...

Not only that, all IS Houses along the clan border lost worlds. Only Planting in Steiner space was able to repel the Clan invaders with help from the 228th.

I think FRR and Kurita are still on vacation. We had both of their planets at 15 wins each, and had more players in the attacking queue than defending queue even then...

Liao and Marik borders heated up and it drew off a lot of the Steiner/Davion pilots who were helping defend the Clan borders. The Liao attack on Davion probably pulled 120 or 150 folks who would have been defending Kurita/FRR off to either attack or defend.

I half expected to come back and see Maladar in Liao hands. It was hard fighting. The unfortunate result is that now that the Ceasefire is over the first attack queue to fill up for Davion is Liao.
