1 - Restrict the area people can fight, or for now allow only by the pop up alert. (In the future would be nice having a kind of campaign)
2 - Reduce the time of the battle to 15 min, 30 min is too long.
3 - Show the people or the number of people that are in the queue waiting.

Not complaining they got CW out early, props to PGI for all their hard work there, just wish they'd have given it a week to settle, to allow players to actually get used to it, get their mechs together, before running an event like this.
As it is, I'm going to try my best mon-tues to get as far as i can, but not having had much time this weekend, and not having all my mechs ready, well, I think PGI caught me with my pants down on this one. Ah well, here's hoping the xmas event makes up for the poor timing choice of this one.
I think the event was a way to make a lot of people try the concept at the same time and test the results.
I think it was a good start, buy they must learn from what happens and adapt it.
Not doubt they will change it a lot and try another event.

I just think plenty of people would have been on anyway, being the first weekend of CW, so the event would have been much more doable, and useful for many more players if they'd given it the week.
Running a challenge for a game mode that is in beta, very buggy, and that had been released earlier than announced just makes very little sense to me. Maybe I'm weird. ::shrug::

I'd add:
4 - Let the game choose where you will fight.
As long as I can fulfill my contract, I don't care where I go or whether I will play in an attack or defend scenario (while on a defend, I find myself often enough in a counter-attack, so MY decision plays no role at all).
@2: you need 30 minutes in order to have any use for all that mechs you bring with your dropship.

It'll be fun once this thing gets ironed out a bit (lot) more.
i get that they want lots of us playing it all weekend so that as many problems can be found, why not do it in a way that doesn't infuriate and turn away more people. every 10 matches get some trinket-y cockpit item or other little reward

That would be nice. I waited for a while, saw nobody and turned my PC off for the weekend. Then I read that many people did find a match but typically for large groups. Fine, community warfare is about communities and not solo drops... but I do not play in 12-mans and if that means missing all the fun and ending up in PUG hell with few high ELO players then the game is basically over for me. Perhaps I'll join a Ghost Bear unit; see if MWO can be salvaged. I've never been attracted to the clan part of online gaming.

Looking forward to getting my last 4 in tonight.
If you're having trouble finding a match:
1) Watch for the alerts. They pop up when a full group is looking for opposition.
2) Don't wait longer than 5 minutes in the defense queue. Once you've got 12 set up to attack, there's a 5 minute countdown for a defense to form. If you're waiting longer than that, that alert you queued up for has already dropped.
3) If you've got a larger group, go on the attack, you find matches much faster. Solo or smaller? Go with defense alerts.

That;s a shame. It's definitely an exercise in patience. I had luck both Friday and Sunday nights. Saturday was a bit longer wait times but I did manage a couple matches then. For me, I've been queuing up based on the bubble and alt tabbing to read up on news, star citizen, and what not. Then 20-30 mins later, I've gotten matches.

I agree, it is similar with my number 1 suggestion.
@2 I think having 4 mechs just assure u will be fighting until the end of the round, but most likely u wont use the 4.
But if it is necessary, cut it to 2 mechs, 30 minutes is a long match.
Sometimes people won't play it because of the long round and the possibility to have a need to leave.

As soon as you entered in game, you would have the chance to spawn in a allied point nearest from the frontier.
There you would have the repair bays and so, each time you lose a mech, you would lose faction personal points. And to spawn a new mech you would need to have more of those points.
That is a beautiful dream, but similar to what happens in a game called Battleground Europe, old but with interesting mechanics.

I like the idea of piloting up to 4 mechs in a row. Compare that to the classic mode, where you have to join 4 games: you wait 3-5 minutes just to get the game going, then the startup time until battle begins (movement phase)... CW is far more intense.

I am one of these people. But in case I don't have an hour to spare, I can always choose the classic mode.

I completely disagree with this. PLEASE KEEP HELPING GHOST BEAR. In fact, help all the other Clans. Especially Wolf and Jade Falcon. Please.
